UConnect 8.4 Alpine BLuetooth Audio Quality

Hey, I recently had my Uconnect 8.4 system updated to software version 17.43.01 and now my bluetooth streaming audio quality from my Samsung S8 has been terrible. The sound has a lot of buzzing seemingly from the front dash speakers when streaming over bluetooth. When playing over the Aux cord, the issue is resolved. I'd like to keep using bluetooth though as I like having the song details on the screen and the ability to use the truck controls to control the music.

I've tired all kinds of changes in the developer settings on the phone without much success. Changing the AVRCP to version 1.6 seemed to show a small improvement, but the sound is still pretty poor.

I've tried running it over usb, but my phone only is recognized by Uconnect when using MTP (not as "Audio Source") and I can only browse to the stock Samsung preloaded song and not my music library (Google Play Music Offline Library).

Have you guys had any similar issues? Anyone had any success in improving the audio quality?

My bluetooth audio sounds great, did you check for possible EQ on your music app, could cause issue if eq is set wrong.

I checked EQ and nothing abnormal is setup. I've used the same phone with my bluetooth headphones and sound quality is great. Tried many variations of the EQ on the truck (surround on/off, bass/treble/mids) with no luck.

Have you tried to un-pair then re-pair the phone? Sometimes that works.

I have tried that once with no luck. Likely worth a second try though as I've heard from a couple others that might help.

Mine is terrible too! It's bad when you stream the highest quality and it sounds great on every else but in the truck its plain horrible! Even worse that even XM sound way better

Agreed, it's frustrating having a "premium" sound system that sounds terrible with my primary music source.

Uconnect is well aware of the issue and so are you guys. The dealer knows that it is an issue you guys allowed uconnect to create. Instead of leaving is these generic posts giving false hope why dont you guys attempt to push for this update to be fixed and figure out an ETA. Ram as a whole has dropped the ball so bad that I wish I never bought the truck due to your guys lack of competence of issues like this. It quite frankly is sickening and disheartening. You really should be ashamed of the company you are working for.
