So, I'm debating whether to jump on a discounted 2020 Limited now, or wait for the '21's. I really want the Uconnect version 5, as I understand it will have wireless CarPlay, HUD, and most of the truck can be updated via download. I was at the dealership this morning talking to the sales manager, and he said, with the exception of the the HUD, the current version Uconnect can be updated to the version 5. However, I am reading otherwise online, in that the new version will come with a lot of hardware upgrades, not just software. Assuming the '21 will come with the new version, is he right, or full of BS?

Pretty sure the Uconnect 5 units are going to be new hardware, but I could be wrong....there doesnt seem to be much information about it yet.

But "Using an Android operating system and an upgraded 50K MIP chip, 6GB of RAM and up to 64GB of flash memory, Uconnect 5 delivers operating speeds that are five times faster when compared to the previous generation." leads me to believe they will be new units, Im pretty sure the current 5th gen units are not running on Android OS.

They could update the software. I don't know anything though, so it will remain to be seen etc.
