Hope someone can help, I have ram 1500 with 8.4 radio vp3 with a 13.37 version software it has not been updated. I was told that I need to update in sequence to 17 version before I do 18.45. Beside the dealer where else can I do this? The website only has 18.45. Is that correct?

I have talked to my salesperson several times about this, and I know it can be up-graded, but he doesn't seem to be interested. From everything I have read, it IS do-able. Any suggestions other than to call him a 5th time?

I'm sure it's doable, with a new head unit with nav, I would assume. One thing I know for sure is I wouldn't be asking a salesperson about it, or trusting anything they say. Aside from that they really aren't the right person to ask, maybe try someone in the service department? Or I'm sure someone on here can answer your question more accurately, hopefully someone will offer their input on it.

The 2020 non-Nav units are not software upgradeable to Nav like the old RA3 units. It you want factory Nav in your truck, a new radio is the only option.

Please don't buy from them. We get a lot of their customers coming to these forums for support. For a 2020 that already has a non-Nav 8.4 radio you only need a new radio. it should be plug and play. The whole "pre-programmed" thing is BS. The radio reads the programming from the BCM. I think there is already a thread in these forums on upgrading the newer radios.

@Roman217 may be able to jump in here. he is the master on all this radio stuff.

I wasn’t advocating anyone purchase from Infotainment. Instead, I was simply providing a link to where Romanclan can see the process of installing a new radio. I was simply reinforcing your statement that it is not a simple software upgrade like one could do on the RA3.

I have a 2016 Ram 1500 and just bought and installed the Uconnect 4C and bought it from the dealership. I need to see if there is a update but I’m not sure since it was made in November 2020. I don’t know if someone who has a 2020 ram with Uconnect 4c will post the update or vin so I can check on the update.
