the liner under my hood is coming off and i cant seem to stop it from tearing and falling down. Ive tried using the widest body clips i can find and it doesn't work. has anybody used a bed liner or maybe a fender undercoating rather than the matting material. id like to find a spray on rather than a mat, i think it would look a lot better and be more durable.

Don't lower end models come without that matting in the first place? Rip it out.

My 02 Durango didn't have one. My dodge stratus and my ram both don't have one because I didn't reuse it on the aftermarket hoods. I'd say just take it off since it can make a mess under the hood as it falls apart under there.

those are pretty damn cool but if the heat isn't bad enough to mess up my paint ill just en up ripping it out. i was just worried about the paint on my hood getting messed up.

They were originally designed as a fire suppressant. The little plastic plugs that attach them to the hood bracing would melt away in the event of an under hood fire...thus, the mat would fall onto the engine, suppressing it.

If you want to keep it that bad The Home Depot sells a spray can in the paint dept of a spray that dries into a rubber sealer. I bet that'd stick to it and hold it together. It's heat resistant also. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1348839679.494292.jpg

:naughty: Take it off! :********:

LOL mine was falling off too. If you're worried just use the sealer posted earlier or some high temp paint.

I personally have not had any paint fading. But I drive a white truck so if there is I wouldn't notice right away.
