Update Uconnect 4C 8.4

I've got a 2014 1500 5.7 Outdoorsman and the Bluetooth cuts out now and again. Would a update fix this issue or is it time for another radio. I actually prefer another 8.4 Uconnect. Preferably a new one from the latest model.

You're on the last firmware made for that radio so no updating. If you want a newer one with more features you want a UAS or UAQ 8.4" radio

It's possible the radio was on this old firmware because it always failed to update. However, it is possible that the reason it is failing is a relatively cheap/easy fix of replacing the Sierra Wireless AirCard AR7552 (about $40-$60). I see the screen is delaminating quite a bit, was there any other issue you had with the radio that made you want to update firmware?

Why does mine have NN instead of US OR Canada. Website says it's up to date. I beginning to think not from the other pics I see in this post.

The website no longer works. I'm not sure why it's still in operation. Yours is not up to date and would need two updates to bring it current (v28.3 and v40.1).

Could you provide more detailed information on when and how often the Bluetooth 'cuts out'?

Also include the phone make & model, and what Bluetooth version it's using.

Is the android auto and/or carplay on the phone updated to the latest release?

My phone has suffered intermittent connectivity and failure to connect several times, and I discovered a more recent release of AA has remedied the issue.

Agreed, some of these later releases of AA have been flaky for me too and always drop navigation right before I'm to make my next exit!

Hey, I hadn't heard back from you yet but I did reach out to someone who was in your same situation and they successfully flashed from firmware v18.13.13 to 28.3 but they had a bad Aircard and had to replace that first.

Currently doesn't connect on startup and with the phone Bluetooth on the radio will intermediate connect and disconnect sometimes in 5 minutes and sometimes 30 minutes.

AVRC- 1.5 default, PBAP- 1.2,
Galaxy S20+5G , sm-9886U

Is this a custom firmware or something else? My 8.4 came out of a 2018 so I'm sure it probably needs an update.

I know this thread is a little old but does my version of the radio need an update? I couldn't find anything that says what the current version is. I also don't know how much dealers charge for radio software upgrades. I got a 2018 with 8.4c I think.

Yes, you are on version 22.6. Don't pay a dealer for this, they will use nothing different from what is available to you and if they break it you will still be charged. PM me your gmail address and I'll send you the update files.
