Hi all, I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn 5.7L Hemi. I replaced the starter and once the battery was hooked up the info center shows (Software Update, Update Failed. Please re-insert USB Device.) I tried soft reboot and hard reboot, and nothing works, it stays on this screen. Is there anyone that can help me with this issue? Thanks Bill

Did you do the work yourself or a third party? Do you have factory navigation?

Very outdated (v19.9 factory firmware). You would need (at least) 3 updates to bring it to the current version (v40.1).

Yes, I did the work myself and yes, it has factory navigation. Does anyone have the files I can put on a thumb drive and reload?

You need Canada firmware. Your firmware is very old but I think it will take v28.3 without breaking it.

That firmware is not compatible with an RA4. Different years/manufacturers

Thanks for your response. As such, is my only option to upgrade the firmware to 17.43.01 (or higher) is by visiting a dealership? My aim is to acquire an updated map for the NAV system (which stipulates ver 17.43.01 is required). It appeared (from browsing various forums) that IF one could source/download the software it could be upgraded without the need for a visit to the dealership.

I would recommend upgrading the entire radio to a UCS or UCQ. The map updates sold are often a bit old and the new radios allow you to use the always updated map apps of your phone with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay for free.

UCQ also has factory NAV built in but most just rely on their phones once they have them.
