So when i started up my truck this evening.. there was white smoke coming out of the tailpipe. It would idle and couple times sound rough like it was going to die on me, but it didnt. Also,, while it was on idle the smoke was consistent. I am not sure if that could be the coolant coming out of the tailpipe? i hope not cause from what i was told if the coolant is inside the engine it could mean major trouble. i have not even had the truck for a month yet. SO im hoping some type of lemon law is applicable. Also, two check engine lights are on for emission things (one of them the dealer already got the part and is fixing on monday) this all happended after i noticed that the coolant level has dropped from half to about a quarter within two-three weeks. ANyone have any problem similar? or can give me some insight? this is really bugging me since its my first truck ever owning and would be devastated if its a blown head gasket or something. Thanks for reading. ( codes are p 0440 and p 0456)

Easy to check for water by pulling the oil stick. Hope it works out good.

The DTC's are for small evap leak, most likely gas cap or bad hose clamp. Coolant drop is something else. As stated check oil for high level or milky color. There is a NAPA hydrocarbon test kit that will tell you if there is a head or gasket contamination.

Sounds like a head gasket but 5.7's are not know to be as bad on those as 4.7's.

It'll be going into the dealership Monday. Haven't even had the truck for 30 days yet and bought "as is" used. If its as bad as a head gasket I hope they will fix it for cheap or help me. Otherwise I don't know... I can't afford to dump a couple grand in it. Ill post on Monday for a update to what I find out. Hoping for the best
