You have a 69 road Runner? I officially hate you! Fortunate *******, nice. :Whoa:

Not to brag (ok I will ) I have a 1969 Roadrunner in project status right now, a 1970 Cuda getting rewired and engine replacement, and working the wife's 1972 Sattelite for rewire and engine swap. That doesnt include the 1940 VD-21 Dodge 1.5 ton project waiting its turn.

Not a bad look but the only ones I can find clear info on are for the 5.7 HEMI. The ones for 6.4 were discontinued. The price of over $1000 is high plus the need for the add on air intake system to hook up to the ram air. When I go to APM hoods website the account was discontinued so support and questions are an issue. Not a bad look however, reminds me of the AAR hoods for the trans-am cudas.

This is the Amerihood SSK that I had installed on my truck, it is fiberglass, uses the original hood hardware. I drove over 300 miles at an average of 75 mph, taking her up 110 mph on the interstate, with no problems. This hood is very stable on my truck. Just my 2 cents worth.

Thank you that is the look and info I was looking for. I had heard some guys had seen heavy deflection at certain speeds which fatigued the material. If I may you didnt see the need for hood pins?

I haven't seen this hood on other trucks with hood pins. I feel that due to this hood using all the original hoods hardware and catches, and because this hood is double walled, with the three vents, which allow air to escape from under the hood preventing lift on the hood from inside the engine compartment, that I didn't really need the hood pins. Now the manufacturer states that they recommend hood pins, but I think that is to cover their butts from lawsuits. When I was driving up over 100 mph, I watched the hood for any movement, there was zero movement. I drove over 600 miles round trip, mostly interstate highways, averaging 75 mph without any problems.

In case anybody was wondering I finally replaced the hood and painted the nose of Thumper. The hood doesn't match exactly paint wise but it will do till money can be saved. Amerihood looks good but there are bigger gaps than I would like on the sides. Since I read someone with the same hood having it blow of on the highway (the hood latch snapped off) I will eventually use hood pins. I put a strip of weather seal under the lip to help keep the air from lifting the front.

Hood pins are in!! Now I can stop babying it. Hood still needs to be match painted but that can wait till next year or when I win the lottery.

I get that. I was 50/50 but in the end we are going to to be towing more and more as time goes by and in the southwest and hilly northeast so heat removal was a plus and they are functional.
