Don't forget too, if it's a 12 that means it could have potentially been built in 11 meaning it's sat for 3 years not 2. There has to be something seriously wrong about it for a truck to sit on the lot that long.

My father has a camper that sounds similar to yours - a 31 ft pull behind. He had a 1500 2011 big horn. The only mod he made was he put Timbrens in the rear to beef up the cushion.

He had absolutely no troubles with it. Pulls it about 6-8 times a year. In fact he got a 1500 2014 Laramie this year and he doesn't have a complaint about pulling it with this one either. He sometimes pulls heavy trailers for work, too. He didn't see the need to go to a 2500. Doesn't want to deal with the stiffer ride.

Obviously some things are beefed up in the 2500 & 3500. But if your half ton is pulling it fine, then why change..

id get air bags or stiffer coils and just take it easy...eventually you may want to consider a 2500 as you do plan to have your 1500 pretty much maxed and that will wear it out faster
