I have a 39ft 8000lb travel trailer. On the way home from dealer I had some sway. Im going to double check my e4 equalizer hitch to make sure its set up properly but should I upgrade my sway bar on my truck as well?

Helwig is the best and strongest swaybar on the market.

The sway bar and end links should be the first upgrades/mod that anyone does to their Rams. The increase in handling and stability is amazing.

Agreed, i put mine in a couple weeks ago. Very different drive afterwards. Wish i did it the first day i bought it, im looking forward to trying it out with our new trailer in the next couple weeks. We have to go pick it up from our dealer and bring it home.

I swapped to the Helwig sway bar and I run more air in the rear tires when towing. that does improve things a little..our trailer is 28' and app. 6000# when towing

I have a 2020 1500 limited with air suspension.
In my first trip with new (used) Lance 1995 (4500-5000 pounds) WDH with friction sway control. A few times I felt the trailer starting to sway and the truck rocking side to side. Felt like the truck & trailer dynamics were contributing to each others instability. I did not like it.

Is this something that a stiffer sway bar in the truck would likely help? Does it negatively impact the truck’s ride when not towing?

If you want serious solid end links look up core 4x4 endlinks. Damn... I’m running them. They’re solid. I’m debating on the sway bar but I like how my truck rides. Not sure if I’ll lose anything offroad with the hellwig bar flexibility wise. The core arms helped me since I raised my truck. I got custom length arms and leveled my sway bar out.

I run Hellwig with the OEM end links per Hellwigs suggestion. The bar itself is where the difference will be noticeable. The end links do nothing extra. Unless you’re end link boots are rotted and dry, don’t spend the extra money, add the Hellwig bar for stick ride height and watch it go.

7709 vs. 7883. What's the difference? Both are 2wd or 4wd but says for lifted 2" and 4" trucks. The difference that makes?

I'll disagree about the end links. I have the Core end links on my lifted Ram. They are much thicker than even the Moog and have poly bushings. Grease zerts. No rubber. No give. I moved my rear sway to the inner most hole and I honestly feel more of a difference there than I did going from the stock bar to the Heilwig in the middle hole. Nothing harsh about it. Now maybe its different on a non lifted truck. IDK.

Hmm I noticed a bigger improvement going from 17" 10 ply tires to X-load 20" tires than I did adding the Helwig and I am on the center hole.
BUT I do have the Tufftruck 1211 springs with factory Xtra HD shocks, so maybe that is why.

I do have a truck ride, not a soft sedan ride.

I have the 7883, with beefy endlinks.

3 inches less of rubber sidewall I'd agree would be a big improvement.
