Hello I came here for some advice.
I need to replace tie rod ends, steering dampener, pitman arm and ball joints on my 05 5.7 4WD SLT Quad. I am aware of the upgraded mopar steering system. I am curious if the 2009 tie rod ends are an exact drop in replacement as an upgrade, or is the mopar upgrade kit different? What I mean by this is can I go on rock auto and just select each individual part from an 09 and build the upgrade myself (sleeves, pitman arm, pitman ball joint, left tie rod, right tie rod), and save $150 vs the $350+ on the upgrade? Thanks.

I would look at the rock auto site and compare part numbers for each piece. Look at the info description and see if any measurements are noted.
It seems like I remember a couple of threads on here about this swap.
I’d start in the gen 3 section under suspension.
Also if your gonna replace all these components don’t forget the drag link.
Does your truck have the “Y” steering setup or the “T” style?
