Lol, WTF! what kind of shrapnel is in the second faulty units? Razor blades? Chinese stars? Poisonous broad head tips? C’mon fca! Or whatever their calling themselves nowadays.

In my line of work ive seen a bunch of airbag deployments. Shoot.... most of the vehicle logo's on steering wheels tend to fly off and cut people.

DID you get a recall for explosive inflator module there were 2 recalls for my 2008, one for drivers side and the was for passenger side. my repair was around an hour.
Yes they were two separate recall notices for the 07.

Rich, I agree. Hate to hear another story like yours. You know the issue and answer. The dealer is in the middle. They replace what is sent to them,,,we hope. Small bright spot. In one of the lawsuits brought against Honda by a owner. Airbag replaced, but failed to deploy in accident. Honda explained that all manufactures were in the same boat. The plaintiffs were able to show the court that Honda could have gone to another company for replacement airbags. Two other company's offered to provide "model spec" replacements. Court awarded punitive damages based on what Honda could and should have done. The internet is full of these cases and story's.
yes and thanks for the response.i have to speak with the service manager get his input as i've been told there is a sequence of what is to happen when you get in wreck. i was ntokld by accident investigater the computer only records /if airbag deploys now does the computer send the message to deploy airbag? rich

I made the call to the dealer. Seems there is two recall's going on. Both driver and passenger side air bag's. Dealer say's we have the part to fix one side but not the other and will have to order it. Will give you a call when we get the part and set up a appointment to fix it. That was near a month ago, still waiting on that call.

T-Duster, we would like you to send us a PM so we can connect with your dealer on this. Parts are readily available and have been since last year. We want to make sure they are on order and that we can get you in ASAP. Again, send us a PM.

Had this recall on my 03 and 07. O3 smooth as silk. In and out in 4 hours. On the 07, got the Hollywood two step BS. Took the facts to Dodge and two days later they had me on a conference call with the service manager. In and out in one day for passenger side. Driver side on back order. Now, in fairness, Takata toast and I understand that dealers are having a hard time getting the replacement air bags in.

Fitz87gn - Please know that none of these repair parts are on back order and we regret to hear that your dealer has misinformed you. Send us a PM ASAP so we can straighten this out with your dealer and make sure we can get you in for an appointment.

With me it's the fact of I'm on call anytime I'm not on the clock. And I don't have time to just sit around and wait for someone to get to it and it takes up to a full day to get it tooken care of. When I have a scheduled appointment i want it to where I can get in and get out with minimum down time. Especially the fact that I am always on call.
We understand this, TheTexasBandit! We want to make sure we can still get you in. We will look into any loaner/rental options for you so that you can still make it to work while the dealer is performing the repairs. Send us a PM with your information and any questions you may have.

Pardon my French, but why the **** did I take my truck for an airbag recall a couple years back an now keep getting calls about getting my airbags done again?
So I’m suppose to trust them ******* a second time

Hi ST-8,
That's because there are two seperate recalls. One for the drivers side which was released earlier and now one for the passengers side which was release back in April 2017, which I am guess is what you are getting calls about now. Send us a PM so we can confirm this and help get you in for an appointment.

Urgent my eye. About 2 months ago, I knew I was going to be close to the closest dealer during the work week. Stopped in, had one of the many postcards that I've been sent, customer service girl punches in some stuff on the computer, Parts Manager comes over and states they have the replacement in stock. I go out to my car and grab the airbag, bring it in and set it on the parts counter. They give me some story about they have to do the work. Great have at it. No, they tell me I have to bring my truck in. Yeah, like that's likely going to happen quick.
Have the instrument cluster out of the truck right now because I only ordered 5 cluster bulbs and after checking 7 were bad, but truck runs, but not a big fan of anyone touching my vehicles let alone my work is the opposite direction of the closest dealer and don't even know that many people close that have drivers licenses that could pick me up if I wanted to drop it off. They could have made my life much easier if they would have done it when I gave them the chance. I'm not done with the work I had planned for the interior, but when I do, I have almost every panel off the dash, no glove box, cup holder and ash tray specifically for the airbag. My attitude is going to sour fast being left in limbo.

Hi RamPhil,
We do need dealers to perform this repair. We understand that many of our customer may have a vast experience in vehicle repairs, however, in order for this recall to be marked as and for you to stop receiving recall notices - a dealer will need to complete this for you. Please PM us if you need any assistance with this.

Exactly....
How bout FCA send me the airbags for my vehicles and I’ll install them myself, im more qualified than the techs at the dealership and since this isn’t “just another truck” ill put even more care into it being done right...
I mean seriously, im supposed to take my truck back to a group of techs that couldn’t even get a fuel pump installation done correctly in under a month, but i should trust these guys to put in my life saving hardware?
Thats a big negatory there ghostrider...

Demon-HeMi, as we've explained above, we are unable to do this. We can make sure to escalate this onto the proper teams while you are at your dealer and work in tandem with them if you have reservations about visiting. Please send us a PM so we can assist.

A note for everyone - this recall is very serious and we know you all have some reservations or inconveniences preventing you from getting this completed. We do really want to try and work with you and offer any assistance we can to make sure we are helping you get these completed. Send us a PM at any time so we can get started.

Had both driver and passenger changed. Easy process as long as the dealer has the parts.

I just acquired my truck last week and heard about this recall today. I will likely call a dealer near me in Orange County - NOT Tuttle Click since they are not good - and get it done soon.

We're glad to hear you'll be getting in soon and are sorry that it seems you've had a bad experience with one of the dealers in your area. If you do find you need assistance in working with your dealer, or even setting up an appointment, just send us a private message.

My 2008 Bighorn had both Airbags "fixed". There have been two accidents since with no deployment.
My passenger side front frame horn started to crush from the hit, and still no deployment.

I speculate that the Dealers are bypassing the inflators and tricking the self-test to pass. Or
FCA has a real problem on thier hands. I can almost see a Class Action suit against them
with so many that have not had the Airbags deploy in an Accident.
