Hello,
Our 2015 2500 with 108k miles has a bad lifter and we are replacing the engine with a new one (Yes, we have been through all the assorted troubleshooting steps over a few weeks before arriving at this conclusion). It is used to haul livestock so it's not worth the risk of a repairing the cam/lifter not knowing whether any additional damage has already been done. The engine still runs, but is reliably misfiring on cylinder 8. It's obviously damaged but I'd like to keep it out of the junkyard if at all possible and was going to list it for sale locally with full disclosure.
My question is: what is a reasonable price to ask for the old engine?
