Searched around a bit but couldn't really find an answer.

I need to change my valve guide seals.

For a 4.7, or even the 5.7, when you gotta change valve stem seals, I'm trying to find the right one, that will fit the 4.7 head.

The old tool, doesnt come close to fitting in the hole. Done quite a few of these over the years. Slant six Volare, a number of 273, 318s and 440s, even the v6 mustang we had in the 00's.

Wondering if this Moroso tool will this fit our modern deep spark plugged heads?? Or what those that have done it have used?

(Know a Snap-on or Mac Partno ?)

This is what I found.

The Moroso one should work, the plug wells on the 4.7's are tight as hell, but it should fit in the tube.If nothing else a little grinding will make it fit,lol

Thanks @Wild one

It's on its way. Gathering everything up for some fun next weekend.
The 4.7 plug wells are alot smaller then the 5.7 plug wells, and it used to perturb me ,whenever i wanted to do anything in regards to the plugs, lol. A plug socket or compression tester that'd fit ever other engine made, doesn't fit a 4.7 aarrgghh, lol

Agree, The first time I changed the plugs on it I bought the snap-on magnetic thin walled socket for it, from info I searched out on this site. No other socket in my box will fit.

I must have got lucky. The socket I use for plugs on everything works fine on my old 4.7. Snap on pn s9706kfua16780762751646724652433370831478.jpg

I'm not sure but aren't the early 4.7's a single plug head, the 08 and later 4.7's use the re-designed dual plug heads

My thoughts as I was walking around... "I bet my 99 grand had a completely different motor and only the 4.7 size was the same."

Pretty cool valve stem seals. Looks like the inner valve spring is married to them.

When I get it apart, will have to see how many of those plastic surrounds are busted up.

Seems like it could complicate my valve spring compressor plan. Will see this weekend.
