Filter replacement for Vararam air grabber

Wondering what the part number is for the green filter and if anyone has replaced the filters with an amsoil Ea series filter before?

Green makes that filter specifically for the Vararam Hemi truck intakes, so Amsoil isn't going to have a direct fit replacement for this filter.

Will the vararam intake void my factory warranty? Have a 2015 RAM with about 3500 miles. Also, what is the big difference between short tube headers and long tube headers, and ceramic and stainless steel? Going to be making a move pretty soon and want to make the right choice. Going with the Magnaflow 16869 debating on the intake and headers.

The warranty is strictly up to your dealership. Many of them could care less unless they suspect deliberate abuse, but others will throw a fit over just a drop in air filter.

Shorties make about 10-12hp/tq where longtubes make 25-30hp/tq. The kicker here is to stay with a 1 3/4" header primary if you go with longtubes though because the larger 1 7/8" will cause you to lose a little tq down low. The peak hp/tq gains will be strong, but the truck will feel sluggish in the lower rpms.

As for the quality of the metal, all the longtubes available for the 4th gens are already stainless. Adding the coating will keep under hood temps down and keep the headers looking new, but wont show any measureable performance gains over the uncoated.

Does JBA have a long tube stainless header 1 3/4? All I see on your site is the 1 7/8

JBA only offers their headers in a 1 7/8" primary. You can get away with the larger primary size, but you would want no less than 3.92 gears to help make up for any loss of tq in the lower rpms.

So the ARH THE MAGNAFLOW and the Vararam. I'm set until they put the tuner out for the 15s?

You got it. You can also add a ported throttle body, underdrive pulley, remove your clutch fan, add a catch can, and a 180* thermostat.

Obviously the tuning is going to bring all these together, but those are your most common bolt on parts for these trucks.

Does anyone make a paper replacement element for dusty conditions? I know that would reduce the horsepower gains but will still be better than stock I would imagine. I don't guess it's the same size as the old six pack air grabber filters? Thanks.

What does and under drive pulley, removing the clutch fan adding a can can and an 180 thermostat do? What benefits does that add?

The under drive pulley and the clutch fan delete free up horsepower. Less strain on the motor. The 180* t-stat keeps the engine running cooler. Cooler engine runs better. The catch can is to trap all the engine oil by pass. Keeps the throttle body and manifold clean of oil.

Realistically once the clutch fan warms up there is very little power used as it is freewheeling along like a torque converter in neutral. The 180° T-stat would make a difference if you were racing where there is not a lot of idling, I've even pushed my Dakota through the lanes to keep it cold, but once you are driving the temp will equalize all the same. It just opens up sooner so the coolant flows through the engine quicker. After 20 or 30 minutes the temp will be the same as a 195° T-stat.

U/D pulleys actually do free up power but reduce alternator output voltage slightly.

This is a daily driver that never will see a track just wanting a little more performance and sound so all of that seems a little unnecessary

The Vararam sounds like a great addition if you are wanting to stick with the stock timing and keep using 87 octane. A computer flash will be the biggest bang for the buck but is detectable by the warranty folk and requires 91+ octane to function correctly.

They don't have a tune for the 15 yet do they? I'll have to stay stock until they do but I do plan on getting a Diablo in addition to the items stated previously

Bought a second filter.

I contacted Green Filter for one. They specially make them for Vararam.

They were nice enough to push my request to Vararam. Steve from Vararam called me personally in 2 days.

The replacement filter was $82 and the recharge kit in clear was $15.
