Hey guys, so this is going to sound ridiculous.... but I just discovered my truck has the Veraram Air Grabber intake kit installed on it. "How did I JUST discover this?" Short answer - I'm apparently just not that bright.... long answer - dealer never mentioned it, salesman didnt say a word when he popped the hood and I even said "holy air cleaner"
I had never looked under the hood of a 2016 up until that point, and had never looked under the hood of an SLT.
So I chalked it up to just being a normal thing, and didnt think too much about it.

Anyways..... turns out that I bought the truck with the Veraram Air Grabber installed and didnt know it, want to know if any of you guys run them and what you think of them? Pros - cons, etc.

I've read some reviews online and it's kinda 50/50. Some negative reviews when it comes to cold weather, and I do get quite a bit of snow where I'm located.

    Thanks!
    Bubba

    Lol....nice addition to your purchase!!
There are ALOT of members here who run them, myself included. I custom painted mine!!
The Vararam gives a bunch more oomph on top end.
Give yours a good cleaning and enjoy it.
I cant speak to your snow question but have seen posts about snow problems but most are its not an issue.

Oh another question about them.... are they lifetime filters? Cleaning? Oiling? Or do you need replace them?

    Thanks

Well that is one less mod you need to do now lol. I also live in an area with tons of snow each winter. You can buy a prefilter screen that greatly helps with the rain/snow issue

I live in Chicago, which has turned into Little Seattle this year with all of the rain that we’ve had. We also see a fair amount of snow here. I have the Vararam on my 2013 Ram 1500 Sport through last Winter and I have yet to have any problems with it. Enjoy! It helps a lot with the top end but.

You can get a cleaning kit from Matt at Moe's Performance a vendor on this site. Sorry to say this but from the look in that picture, I think you need one ASAP. The filter is an oiled filter. There is a pre filter you can buy to help with the snow if you think that is going to be a problem. Some guys use the prefilter and some guys take them off and replace them with the stock air cleaner system during the winter months--although I don't think that is necessary.

Nice surprise with the truck! The Air Grabber is a great intake as long as you’re diligent about keeping it clean and making sure the filter is fully seated in the base. You can also get an Outerwears prefilter for the filter too if you want to keep water and snow out along with prolonging filter cleanings...
