Vibration at 50 mph help

I have a 94 dodge ram 1500 5.9 v8 2 wheel drive and when I get to 50 to 60 mph and my rpms drop to less than 1700 i get a bad vibration only when accelerating if I stop giving it gas it stops or if I get it above 1700 rpms it stops a shop said I needed new front wheel bearings would the bearings cause that or is it something else

Sounds exactly like my truck when I have a misfire. It starts shaking horribly when it goes into overdrive. Try switching off the overdrive and see if it goes away.
