I'm trying to find time to detail the truck in between all the honey-do projects.

I have to admit that I have never read so many threads that have talked about guys cleaning and detailing their trucks in the last few weeks. I'm guessing that now that a large number of us are "sheltering in place" and have some spare time on our hands, that our trucks are getting a little TLC. I'm proud to say in the last few days I've detailed the boss's car and detailed the truck also. How about y'all---Has your truck been getting some extra attention during the last few weeks?????
Jay
Did my first hand wax with meguiars, took a couple hours did it in one of our bays at work for shade, hope it won’t rain do a few days at least

Thanks.
As far as hard to do, no not really. It IS alot of elbow grease though.
It will not be too late for your 60k mile truck. If nothing else do one fender to start, after seeing the result next thing you know its done...lol

I cannot wait to give her some TLC but the pollen is making my cherry truck yellow. When that subsides, will begin the process.

Make sure you use plenty of clay bar lube or you will mar/scratch the paint.

Hopefully washing tonight after work, I did order a CarCover.com Platinum cover today and waiting for my Topcoat F-1 to be delivered though!
If I get it washed, maybe I can talk the wife out of her spot in the garage until my car cover shows up?
I did put in a killer work bench over the weekend so I can finally get some truck projects completed.
Also got my racks up to hold my Jeep doors too.
Last picture are the girls waiting to get in, and of course, my helper Darby girl taking a break under my truck.

What Jay said +10. I always use the synthetic (now), but the same process as actual clay bar on my vehicles while they're still wet after washing it and just keep the water running as I clay bar.
You don't need to use detailer, water works just as well, obviously in the shade on a cool vehicle. Must wax soon there after.

I washed & waxed for the second time today after work took my time 5 hours but still ended up with wax on my doors handles & plastic/rubber trim taping it off seems extreme, do you have any suggestions?

I know that taping it off is a pain in the ass but it is effective. That's what I do plus I use products that do not "stain" the plastic and rubber.

Will regular painters tape work or do you use something different any thoughts on getting wax off the plastics thank you for your reply

Painters tape works fine. Let me look around a little for a good product, people have tried lots of stuff and I don't remember right now what the most successful has been. You also might look in the detail section some more I know that a lot of people have talked about it.

3M Automotive tape its yellow and can be found on amazon and locally. It bends around corners much better and is not expensive

Ummm, yeah, that's an understatement. New wheels and tires, tinted taillights and third eye, smoked rear Ram's head logo, added wind deflectors, debadged "Ram 1500" on doors and "4x4" logo on gate, replaced backup camera, and multiple car washes, too.

debadged 1.jpg . LOL
