Truck died. Jump off windshield wiper and washer came on. No radio or anything else on black screen. Just a warning 101 not used. Any help would be appreciated

Is any working in your truck, as in does it crank, do headlights or fan come in? What were you doing when it died? Did you replace battery lately?

My first step, without knowing too much else, would be to do a load test on your battery to check the amps. A voltmeter won't tell you much.

Bought new battery. Cranked but battery emblem on. Someone told me that it’s probably alternator. No blinkers no backup camera.

You need to load test the battery, and checking output of alternator would also be a piece of the puzzle. Your truck is 12 years old. Things happen. I would check all main power wires, clean contacts and check for any loose fitting contacts. Also check main grounds. And verify all fuses, relays, etc. are good and seated properly. Even a new battery can be bad, it happens.

I had a similar type of situation a few years ago when charging was intermittent or not working and finally traced it to several bad grounds under my hood. Start at the battery and work your way out, removing, cleaning and refastening as many as needed to overcome the problem, and/or, do as others have suggested. It worked for me. I hope it helps you. Good luck!

Has not happened for a few yrs, but I have bought battery's that where not charged up from sitting on a shelf for a long time, so I usally would put a charger on them, yrs ago a low charge was not a big deal, these days ,its a big deal with all the computers in these things.
