I bought my 2022 on July 21st from a dealer . They were one of the " the price is the price" dealer,. They wouldn't negotiate at all and if the truck wasn't as clean as it was and with only 30K on the clock I would have just left. During the signing they informed me that they only had one key fab and it would be up to me to pay for another. I was so pissed off that I went to a locksmith and paid $50 more because I didn't want to give them any more of my money. Well I was at my buddy's house and I went to back up and the truck went to 4000 RPM and almost went through a fence!!!! I was holding the brakes as hard as I could. I shut it down and it went back to normal and hasn't done it since. I called to make an appointment about a week ago and was informed that the earliest appointment was today 8/20 I wanted an earlier appointment but they couldn't accommodate me.I show up today for my appointment and was informed that the balance of the factory warranty expired yesterday!!!!! On my paperwork it said the " approximate expiration date" was 8/31. I bought the Mopar extended warranty on this truck but was told if they don't find anything wrong that the warranty (with a $100 deductible) would not apply and I would have to pay their $185 "diagnostic" fee.!!!! I can't believe the way I've been treated and the lack of customer service. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP AGAIN. I should have went to the dealership that I bought 3 cars from. I just hope that this problem doesn't resurface and some gets hurt. I'm not sure if Ram Cares can help ?

Thank you for taking my comment the way it was intended. I was a bit concerned, after I hit the post button, that your wound might still be too fresh :p
I've had more than my share of, "What have I done?" moments. And my wife remembers every one of them :disgust:

Nah,
I never take any comments on a thread to heart. Learn early to have a thick skin. No problem at all. My wife NEVER forgets anything as well.

@RamCares, are you out there?

OP, not your fault that you had to wait for the appt., you set it up within the warranty period, in my world, you should be good.

Document your issues, when you called, etc., save receipts, who spoke with. Just so you can keep things straight.

Good luck.

I wouldn't count on @RamCares, I know mine is in warranty, because it is a 25. I have called about the TMPS on the dash says to inflate to 50PSI, which there is a recall on. They tell me my truck is not under the recall so they can't do anything. I have a few other it is bad things, but it is normal. I call and get told the dealer will need to escalate this. The dealer calls and they say it is normal.

As for the OP. You called in and made an appointment. They said it would be x date, which just so happens to be one day out of warranty. I would blame the dealer on this, they looked up your truck, figured they could make an extra few bucks for service by giving you an appointment after the warranty expired. Pretty Shi-- way to do business, I would report it to the BBB, that will get their attention.

They can still submit it under warranty. When I reported my cruise control button wasn't working it was right on the bubble of the 36 month warranty. They weren't sure if they could get me in before it expired or not, so they documented the complaint and said it didn't matter if my appointment was slightly after, and if the first appointment didn't fix it a subsequent attempt at fixing it would also still be covered.

I called their main number and spoke with a random operator. She told me that she could only offer me the 29th of August if I wanted to wait for it but if I was willing to leave it all day I could have the 20th. This happened on the 13th of August. I will try to get the names of people involved. This Dealership has been TOTALLY UNIMPRESSIVE. Thanks for your help.

All I have to offer, if this happens again it should be reflex to through it in neutral. Try and practice just once so you know how easy it is, wont hurt nothing. I don't have 8 speed but perhaps even easier with 8 speed.

I have had a similar issue and they extended the warranty because the appointment was booked. It's not your problem they have a backed up service dept. You might have to write some letters, but they should bend on the issue.

If it helps a little...my 2022 only came with one key fob also. I understand that this is becoming more common. I also went to a local locksmith and purchased one that was guaranteed and they programmed ...$150. Beware of buying one off the internet. Sorry about the rest of your crap.

I have helped a few friends and relatives buy used cars over the years. I ask how many keys they have for the vehicle, if they say one, I tell them wrong answer, he or she wants two programed keys. If they say no, I get up and start to walk away along with the person I am with. They always seem to come up with another key. Also if there are other locks on the vehicle, like tool boxes etc, I get them to make keys for them as well. It is not my fault they bought a vehicle without all the keys, but I sure won't.

Also in most states you have three days after purchase to change your mind. I would use that if I didn't think of a second key before signing on the line.

What is the name of the dealership? Help a neighbor. Truth is truth, it is not libelous. Out them.

At this point in time I believe you can count RAM CARES out of the picture. Stellantis has shifted all customer service to Asian call centers and they are less than useless. A Service Manager friend of mine at a local Dodge/Ram dealer say's they are pulling hair dealing with them, and if they have issues the poor consumer has no chance at all.

Has anyone actually benefited from 'help' via RC?

I haven't heard of anyone getting two sets of FOBs with a used car purchase in years. Some dealers hold on to the second set on financed vehicles to ease recovery of the vehicle in case of loan default.
