Weird leak under oil filter

Hello all,

New here but in need of some help diagnosing what this leak is from. I have attached a photo below. As you can see there is the oil filter right above but I have already ruled that out. Any help is greatly appreciated! Fluid has the has the consistency of sludge. Brought the truck in for an oil change in hopes they would diagnose it, but they had no clue.

Use some carb or brake cleaner and clean off all of the current crap. Pictures are not of much use as they don't trace the staining at all. It has been there a very long time. Will be a whole bunch easier to find if it actually comes back. It could very easily be oil drips from removing the filter during oil changes that the tech was too lazy to clean up properly.

It may be coming from the oil pressure sending unit, degrease W brakleen and dry it off to see where its coming from.

Could be from the last oil filter change ,that was not cleaned up properly when finished.

Looks to me that whoever changed the oil filter didn't give a hoot about where the oil went when removing it?

I have a very similar issue in the same area. It is not my filter or left over from oil change. I do my own because yes the dealer techs are sloppy and do not clean the mess. Also i cant get them to do synthetic oil so i said the heck with dealers and do my own. 2021 Rebel 35,000 miles and wet around filter area. I clean it and dry it but it comes back in a few miles. Cant really tell where it comes from. I have tightened the oil pressure sending unit which was not tight at all but really dont see it coming from there.
