Recently purchased a 2012 1500 Lonestar Ed. CC. It has this weird looking plug under the dash on the drivers side, does anyone know what it is?

Makes sense, thanks for the info. Now off to cut it out.

If you track the wires down, it probably goes to the OBD connector. I have also seen a piggyback connector where the OBD wires are disconnected from the connector, plugged into the piggyback, then the piggyback is plugged back into the rear of the OBD... "Invisible" modification.

Decided I would pull the little tab out before I actually cut the wires off. Needless to say that with the plug out the truck would not start. Some kind of security feature or something?

Definitely some kind of immobilizer. Could be an after-market alarm system. Or as was suggested before, an anti-start switch for buy-here/pay-here lots.

looks like an anti theft immobilzer thing. see if you can find out who the maker of the thing is and see how to remove it. or sleep safe knowing you can remove that and reduces your chance of getting the truck stolen

Thanks for the info guys, I will definitely be looking into it some more to figure out if I really want to remove it.
