Apparently since I've painted the headlights, it has ruined the reflectiveness of them so they barely project at all. What should I do? Would a coat of clear maybe give it some more shine and reflect better? Or maybe HID's?

Only thing that will really fix that is new headlights or projectors

Phooey. Well for now I'll be doing day driving only. Until I can maybe pick up those headlights from codes.

Well son...you've learned a valuble lesson.

Just an FYI, the "black headlights" on ebay have a small area on one reflector painted, and then the reflectors themselves do the rest. When the bulb is on, the reflectors do thier job.

Did you paint the reflective walls or the lens? If you painted over the chorme reflective walls with regular spray paint, wipping them carefulluy with a rag with some brakekleen on it will get most of it off.

If you painted the platic lenses it's easier. Try some 800 grit wet or dry sandpaper then 2000 grit, then polish with scratch-x. Lots of work, but your lenses will be clear. Then apply protectant to keep them that way.

I have some smoked headlight covers for sale if you really want to have something dark.

+1 on the brakekleen , from my experience light steel wool will gently remove paint without hurting the surface.

I would try cleaning it out first, not like your going to need the headlights at the moment, could save you some $$$

and +1 on the title lol

Yes I did paint the bowls JJ. When I was first asked, I answered in ignorance. Forgive that. When he said bowls I thought the little bowl that went over the bulb to reflect the light back. Which I did not paint. Yes, I admit I didnt know what the bowl was :/ I am a COMPLETE noob.
