Here's a newbie question for 'ya:

I just picked up a used 2002 1500 Ram 5.9l a couple of nights ago and am having issues determining the trim level.

When I'm looking up parts on most on-line sites I have the choice of : Custom, ST and SLT.

The truck is badged as a Sport model which I understand is an option package but is it an ST or SLT?

A VIN search just shows it as a Ram 1500 Quad Cab Pick Up.

Thanks for any assistance,
Mike

Dodge - Recall

Left hand side, "YOUR VEHICLE", click "Equipment Listing", enter your VIN and get the build sheet, I think it will tell you there.

Thanks for the suggestion but I tried that already.

Just comes up as "2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab Pick Up"

Wonder if the fact that it's a Canadian model makes any difference...

Sorry. That's all I have. How about Carfax?

I am from Canada as well.

I went to my local dealership when I bought my truck a few weeks ago (2002 RAM 1500 as well) and they were kind enough to print me the vehicle's option report which contains the full description of the vehicle's option as it was ordered for the original purchaser.

This is normally a dealer's eyes only document but the lady at the service desk was kind enough to print me a copy (so YMMV). I would think a dealer or an Auto Parts store would be able to tell you if the "Sport" package is based off of a ST or SLT.

Hope these options can help you out.

The Sport can be based off either the ST or SLT packages; the SLT was the most common. If you're looking for parts then stick with the SLT, Canadian model doesn't matter.
