I was going to sell my 3rd gen so I did some research on CL and it seems like the prices on 2nd and 3rd Gens are super high? Is it like that in everyone else's area too or just here in Northen California?

In the Summer of 2017 I paid $12500 for a 2007 Hemi Ram 4x4 with 4 doors and a shortbed. It only had 73100 miles on it.

I love it.

Love adding comments 6 months later. Bought my 08 Ram 1500 4.7 6 speed with 81,000 for $12,000. Actually looks almost exactly like the last comment!

I picked mine up in November 2018 with 197XXX on the odometer. I paid $3,000 for my 2005 1500 Crew Cab SLT with the Hemi 5.7L. then had to turn around and pay another $585 to register it. Thanks California.

Prices on any vehicle drops as you head east, California being the highest.

Good used 3rd gens quad cabs 4X4 5.7 low miles average 11-12K here in VA.

I just found this one for 16,000.00 with 259xxx miles. New injectors, Platinum fuel pump, 6speed manual, with new clutch do I run or jump on it?

I bought my '04 1500 5.7L(still pretty much stock) last year for 5k. About a week after I got it I looked it up on KBB and the trade in value is roughly 2500. Definitely wouldn't have paid 5k if I had known that.

So $10k a year ago June ... another year of depreciation @15%.... $8500? cash? Small bills.
Bawhahahaha, lol. You know, the Mini Cooper almost had me, you're offer is tempting, but I'll have to pass. Stay tuned, I have a huge MOD coming up this summer that all will sure to like!

It depends on the specifications of the truck, the condition of the truck, location, miles, etc. There's a lot of factors the value depends on. 2nd gen and 3rd gen Cummins trucks in good shape with less than 100k miles go for upwards of 25,000 dollars, while a gas 3rd gen with 100k miles with the 4.7 or 5.7 is worth much less. Less than 10,000 in most cases for fair condition gas 3rd gens. More miley trucks are worth much less, a truck with over 200k may be only worth 2,000-5,000 dollars depending on the condition of the working parts, trim level, engine, etc

Trucks in general resell for much higher than other vehicles. With new full-size trucks $40,000- $80,000, older trucks are in demand by people who can't afford a new one. Even a rusted out POS sells for $2000. If you find a decent one for less than $5,000, jump on it.

New to forum. Just bought an 05 ram 1500 4x4 reg cab with 27460 original miles, 5.7 hemi. Almost showroom, except for slight surface rust on bed wheelwell, one side. Can't believe how good condition is Paid $9000. Rides a little rough with 265/70/17 tires. Tires look new, but have a date of 2013 on them. Also, the previous owner said he used 5/20 mobile 1 oil, non-synthetic, although his wife said she thought it was synthetic( he looked like maybe 75 or 80 yrs old, Im not too young myself, lol). Should I switch to synthetic? I think I got a great deal. Tonneau cover, matching running boards. Not many options, since its a base model, but hardly broke in. The old guy even said he changed all fluids since he didn't drive it much. He even flushed the radiator, changed trans. fluid and transfer case. Pearlcoat red with chrome wheels. Do you guys think it was a good deal? I do wish it was a little smoother, though. I'm getting up there in age,lol

I’d switch it to synthetic oil but that’s just me.
I paid 10K for my 08 quad cab 4.7 with 79K on the clock on Jan 1st 2016. KBB still shows it 10-12K and after viewing other used vehicles for sale I believe it.

I know, trucks are overpriced, even with high mileage. I'm glad I found this. Bought local trading journal first day it came out. Missed out on a 2011 club cab frontier 4x4 6 cyl. loaded with 47000 miles for 11900 a month ago. Also a good deal.
