Finally got around to doing the cabin air filter mod on my 16 Sport. It was actually a pain to get the plastic cover cut out since my dremel was too big to get all the corners and ended up having to use a box cutter.

Also finally got my Clazzio pvc seat covers and installed them.
Really comfortable. I'm actually not 100% satisfied with the fit but I don't have them quite adjusted right so I'll call it operator error lol
Not sure I'm thrilled with the center console cover I want to modify it but can't sew worth a damn!

Pardon the dirty floor lol

You dont have to know how to sew to make that center look better. The black trim piece around the cup holders pulls right off. Then you can take a razor blade and carefully cut away the section with the three holes in it. Then simply pop the cover back on while tucking the material underneath to hold it.

Same process I did on my old f150. Also the wrinkles will work themselves out in the heat. Then readjust/retighten the ties.

Looks good.

Just finalized my order on CustomWheelOffset.com for my new wheels and tires setup... first time buying brand new wheels and tires at the same time... in the past i usually bought second hand off FB or craigslist to save money but Crypto has been extra nice to me lately so I decided to just buy brand new wheels and tires. Heres what i went with:

Xtreme Force XF10 Gloss Black with Red Milled Spoke Edges 20x10 -25

xf10_blackredmilled_white.jpg

Atturo Trail Blade XT 35X12.50R20LT
trailbladext_white_top2.jpg

So i originally wanted these XD859 Gunners in Red but they are sold out across the entire internet and on backorder for 60-90 days and i just didnt feel like waiting until mid-to-end of summer for my new wheels, and my current tires are so bad that i couldnt wait that long.

What's the deal with air ride and UCAs. Don't you guys use the same factory UCAs as in non air ride trucks?

The ride height sensor linkage attaches to the UCA. The mounting points and geometry are the same. But I need to take more time to research who makes a decent control arm with a place to drill and tap to put the ball stud on for the linkage. I don't want to make a weak point and have one fail because of it.

I just had my EVIC flashed as well because I installed a factory brake controller. Can you tell me if your able to select another setting besides light trailer mode? I was told the 1500's don't allow you to select another mode.
Did you ever get a answer?

Unfortunately this happened to me Sunday. Approximately 2000 miles and zero offroad on my BDS control arms.

IMG_0799a.jpg

State trooper told me there was at least 300 feet of skid mark about 2 feet away from the guard rail...yep...I was there for that.

I sent all these photos to BDS. Their tech support tells me their control arms are not recommended for their 4" lift kits. Not the same thing the sales person told me when I was convinced to buy them. Bottom line I am paying out of pocket to replace the tire, cv axle, abs sensor, tie rod end, sway bar end link, and possibly a lower ball joint. Tech support was only willing to cover their parts so I'm being sent more crappy Moog "Problem Causer" ball joints.

I was told using the Fox 2.0 coilover shocks with the 4" lift and it's required spacers has not been tested by them so they wouldn't accept liability for their product failure. No Fine Print warranty my ass! He told me their 4" lift kit is based on using stock struts. I asked what's the difference since the fox shocks were set to factory height per the instructions and going back to factory struts I'd still have the same height issues and angles on the control arms. No response. The shop that did my install is just as shocked by BDS and their response. My shop recommended we raise the front an inch to decrease the angle of the control arms and go to 3 inch spacers in the rear to keep it level. After seeing how others of you out there have the 6" lift and suffered the same failure you'd think BDS would realize there's a serious problem with the ball joints they are using!

It's very aggravating that BDS won't step up for their product failure and how this could have been a far worse situation...potentially life ending! Of course my setup was going to work fine when I was convinced to make the purchase of their control arms, but now that something has seriously gone wrong they are back tracking with quickness. Say anything to make the sale...then find any reason not to honor up to collateral damage cause by a failure of their parts.

Shout out to the tow driver that got me from Gettysburg to Dillsburg where I was able to get the replacement ball joint and to the AAA tow driver that got me all the way back to WB. I was able to get the ball joint replaced Sunday night and had to order a new abs sensor from Amazon since it wasn't available locally at 1/8 the price. My shop got the new tire in this afternoon along with the replacement cv shaft so I'm setting up to bring it to them Thursday morning.

If anyone has recommendations of control arms that I can trust...please share. Worried about the passenger side ball joint just going "snap" on me at any time like this one did. No excuse for this failure with such low miles after a month.

Looks like when it went bad it went good considering what could of happened.
I’d recommend getting away from ball joint upper and switch over to uniball uppers, icon or cst. It’s what all the race trucks and crawlers use. I went with the cst ones purely because they were on sale at the time I purchased and were a couple hundred bucks cheaper than the icons.

Thank you, I was thinking about trying this but I was afraid to screw it up. It seems like they would have made it like that to begin with.
I also have an extra piece I think I can modify to fit the lid. I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

Got my warn Evo 12k and vice design winch mount finished up. Also used their control box relocation kit. Modified the clutch handle to mount through the bumper side of the main bracket, I can reach it through the slot where I cut the honeycomb out of the trim. Im completely satisfied with the kit and how it came out. Quality materials and design. No cussing or fixing...IMG_20210423_102712_01.jpg IMG_20210423_102712_01.jpg

I installed a set of Carhartt Precision Fit seat covers on the front buckets of my BH. My seats are in good condition despite 134k miles, so these are preventative rather than covering up tired seats. These are made for Covercraft I believe. Shopped the net and ordered them for $358 total, on Feb 17. I received them on Apr 15. They have an unusually long lead time from Mexico, where they are produced. Putting them on was moderately difficult in threading all the under-seat straps properly to avoid interference with the cables underside. The covers fit snugly and should settle in nicely. Overall they are designed and manufactured well. They appear to be up to the task for many years.

Drained the power steering reservoir and refilled with Lubegard Synthetic p/s fluid. I was noticing some dead spots on quick turns so figured it couldn't hurt. Old fluid was blackish brown, might've been the original stuff from 2010 for all I know. Lubegard fluid is clear, and it took a little less than a quart to refill. No more dead spots!

Also installed the JBL 322F Club speakers in the dash. Really woke up the Alpine system.

Used Red Wolf wiring adapters so it's plug'n'play.

I installed the Deezee tailgate assist and started my bed light install. It was finally warm enough to risk the LEDs not sticking under the rails. Still need to finish the wiring. I’m using the Curt trailer adapter for power and doing a pin switch in the tailgate with a bypass switch and relay.

Fixed my horrible front seat and installed Gator Liners. I bought my truck from the original owner but he used it as a work truck the last few years and it was really dirty. I'm probably going to have to shampoo the driver seat back a few more times.
