What did you do with your 5th Gen this week?

Adam, they said the part was $1500 and another $400 for dealer install. Pretty crazy that it is a $995 option from the factory, but basically double that after the fact. Does this sound right to you?

Ya $1500.00 is retail for them but i would see if they can give you a discount since you bought the truck from them. I installed it my self, took me about 3 hours to do. Its not hard just time consuming. Tomorrow i can upload the instructions to install them if you want so you have an idea of whats involved.

For that price I’d wait till amp releases a set and install myself and save my money lol. Downside of the 5th gen being so new is lack of parts/competition to drive part pricing down.

I'll ask if they'll do anything for me, but honestly I don't wrench on my vehicles anymore. Don't have the time or desire - my days of busted knuckles are long gone.

If I remember when i go into work tomorrow I'll upload it. Everything is plug and play, no drilling.

Only issue I had installing running boards using the factory studs was cleaning off the paint overspray on the studs. Most were on there pretty thick and can easily mess up the threads on the nut.

Swapped the chrome moldings around the window out with black ones, and also swap the hemi badge on the hood to black ones as well. Next on the list is swapping the chrome mirror caps with painted ones. and remove the RAM badges on the doors and 4x4 on tailgate.

I hear you. The dealer I go to had some turnover and the new people in the parts section suck. Still get a discount but they are just lazy.

Removed the RAM emblems from the front doors. Added black 1500 hood and tailgate 4x4 emblems.

New black front RAM and tailgate Laramie emblems should be in this week.
