I'm 6' tall and too short to work under hood for anything besides battery cables or checking fluids. What do you guys use to stand on to do things like wipers or check cab clearance lights?

If I’m working on the top or front of the engine, I’ll stand on the tow hooks. Otherwise, I have a three step stool I use.

Better yet just hook a bungee cord on back of belt and hook other end to hood latch ring on hood?

either a step stool or small step ladder. I am 5'10" and my power wagon with 35's does not let me do much under the hood without being elevated some way.

Usually a cooler or I'll pull my polaris sportsman facing the fender/side I'm working on and kneel on the front rack.

Tire step? I'll have to google that.

I was thinking the next time I go to home depot I'd just buy a few 2x12's and make some 4 ft long benches that will give me a comfortable height but also side to side room. 2 or 3 maybe so I can basically walk around the front. Maybe something that folds. Thought there may be something like that already everyone but me had.

That topside creeper looks cool, don't think I can justify it though. Plus I'm not sure it would be mobile enough for me when I'd be using it, as in having to get down, reposition, get back up, repeat. I don't have a nice smooth shop floor where it would be used.

I used the tow hook for a few minutes until my toe started going numb, so I grabbed a small 2-step ladder. I like that tire step thingamajig.

I use a step ladder with rubber feet on it. With the 2" level, she's a bit difficult to do anything without one and I'm 6'2. I feel for the folks running 37's and a lift.
