So I screwed up and backed over a mesquite tree in the dark while trying to stay unstuck on a muddy day. ..

The tree limbs ripped what I’m guessing is a gear selector from the transmission.
The truck is currently stuck in the forward gears and will not shift to neutral , reverse or park.

I had this picture sent to me from someone who is at the camp near where the truck sits (its a 6 hour drive away).

My hopes are to buy this part then drive the 6hrs and swap it out.

    The truck is a 2006 5.7 auto 2wd.
Not sure what transmission is in it or if they offered different autos that year- but I do have the vin number if that would help narrow it down.

    Thanks for any help offered.
(And yes, I’m aware driving a 2wd with mudgrips doesn’t make it a 4wd- this incident has helped solidify that fact in my brain).

Not sure how this ended up in Exterior- might have to do with my title I guess.

Ok, friend near truck decided it’s probably not associated with the transmission.

Could it be the carbon canister off the fuel fill line?
