The Colorado is a refresh-redesign, not ground up. I believe they are using the same frame and platform, but lots of exterior, interior, and drivetrain changes.
I don't think we can expect much in terms of changes in size. We'll see! I'm looking forward to the release, they've been teasing this thing out for so many years now.
So it's sort of between a midcycle refresh and a full redesign from what I understand. The platform is "heavily modified" to a new version, whatever that will entail. The 2.7L from the full size is widely expected to be the only motor available. I fully expect the Ranger Raptor to be the better of the two and the Ram Dakota to continue to be nothing but rumor and hopeful wishes.
