I have an 05 ram, and I have a superchips flashpaq installed. Ive recently been told that superchips and hypertech are good programmers, but not the best. So what is the best programmer or chip and what makes them better?

who told you superchips wasnt the best? Hypertech is definitely not the best, but superchips I would argue is the best for the hemi, especially with the optional trans tuning.

DiabloSport is the other awesome tuner for the hemi.

What are your plans for the truck? If its just a CAI and exhaust then superchips is the best bet. If your looking of going into big cams or heads your gonna need Diablo or SCT. There are a few cams that run well on SC just depends what all your looking for.

yea what these guys said, all depends on what you wanna do. I like my diablosport but it doesnt offer trans tuning for my year, any truck 05-up has the options, mine is an 04.

i echo the sentiments above..since you have an 05 you have arguably the best year pcm (that works with programmers).... if you plan on running a cam/heads, then diablo/sct would be your options...not going that deep into mods then superchips is your best bet, they have more tranny and torque management control over the others..

the 3815 is a good handheld...almost wished I didn't sell it for the diablo (but i needed custom tuning)...just keep updating it...

The 3815 is good, but it doesnt offer any of the transmission control functions that the new 3865 has.

You never answered what your plans are for the truck? Cam/heads? If so, how aggressive? There are some pretty good cams out there that will run without custom tuning.

If you're interested in transmission control (controls shift points, pressure, firmness, just about anything you could dream of), you might consider upgrading to the Superchips Flashpaq 3865.

I personally have a Diablo Predator and it works great (came from a SC 3815 like you have). I made the switch because i needed custom tuning for my cam. The built-in tunes are a tad stronger in the DSP, but the SC 3865 more than makes up for it with their tranny control.

If you're looking to go all out with the custom tuning, datalogging, monitoring, etc, and you want an all-in-one package check out the diablo trinity.

Theres a lot of information here, so take it in slow. Ask any questions you want. To get the most accurate information possible, include everything you know about your truck and what your plans are for it
