Purchased a new 2019 2500 Diesel. This was in the truck in a ziplock baggie. No idea what it is. 12EBB8E2-90EF-42B8-80A6-2AE3134D10EB.jpegBA6A8C19-A5B8-4DA3-B628-09AB0843869F.jpeg

You may have the block heater already installed but the cord is an accessory you have to buy separately.

I think they started that nonsense a few years ago.

Thank you! Now if I can find where my engine block heater cord is.
The block heater itself is right by the oil filter, start looking there. If you don't have a cord, Geno's Garage sells them cheaper than the OEM and their probably made by the same manufacturer.

Thanks! Do they Normally come with a cord also? I have a time low for mine in the front of the grill and can’t find it.My truck didn’t come with the cold weather group package and the engine block heater so I know that at least the heater is on there.

All the CTD and EcoDiesel engines have the block heater installed, it's the cord that's an option. I'm pretty sure that it's the Cold Weather group that you get the block heater cord with.
If you do have to install the cord yourself, zip tie it to your tow hook and come out that opening. You can tuck it out of sight and use it without opening the hood. I took a three prong ground adapter, cut the prongs off it and packed it with dielectric greese to protect the plug when not in use.

Ok, I think I have the cable (see photo). For the life of me I can’t find where it comes out. 346C7572-5BC4-47FD-906D-6CCBCD92F76A.jpeg

You have the cord, look around the passenger headlight, you might need to look under the plastic cover by the radiator

I’m so glad you asked this and it was answered, was just about to do the same thing lol. Also, my 2020 3500 came with the cord for the block heater, it’s right on the factory bumper, I made the mechanic at the dealership show me.

When I bought my new truck I had them show me because I had trouble finding the cord on my 2007.
