What is this plug for?

Hello,

I have a 2016 5.7 1500. While adding a badge to my grill I noticed this connector by the hood latch. I was wondering what it is for? I bought a remote start from mopar to only have them not install the parts but flash the ecu for the module. Is this plug in the picture below the hood latch sensor that shuts the engine off if the hood is opened while remote started?


Also here is the badge I installed. Not sure what I think of it yet.

Thanks for the badge love! Is there anyway to know for sure. I’d hate for the dealer to install a useless wire from a factory kit if I have the plug there already.

On the trucks we have added the factory remote start too that plug is not actually connected. We ended up having to use the plug that came with the kit.

Well ain’t that ridiculous! I wished it all worked by just plugging the modules in and the antenna and calling it a day
