I always get better mileage on my 200 mile to the beach than on the same roads on my return trip. I have talked with my co-workers and they have noticed the same thing. Many theories on the beach haveing cheaper gas and this or that but my theory is that even though the road appears to be flat there is still a slight drop in elavation, running down hill, when headed towards the beach, so on return trip even though it appears to be flat, I'm still slightly pulling uphill.Ran 87 octane on a trip from FL to WI.
