Okay so I'm looking at 4 and 6 in lifts. How much does a 6 in actually hurt gas mileage in a 5.7 hemi. Bought the truck used but pretty sure it has 3.92 gears in it. Also what size tires would look best.

The lift doesn't really effect the gas mileage, the tires do. I wouldn't go bigger than 35s unless you want to shovel out money to regear.

I put 35s on not to long ago and it took about 2 mpg off.

And I would say go with the 6in because youre lifting the truck so why not lift it big

Definitely go for a full 6" lift. With 3.92's you could get away with 37's if you want but 35's will definitely be a better option if you don't want to lose too much power or fuel mileage. If you want to run 35's just go for a standard 6" lift. If you want to run 37's you'll need to add additional lift with Bilsteins.

I have yet to lift my truck yet :( but I have heard from people who ordered the 4in lift that they loved the lift the 1st few months but later regretted not spending the few extra dollars to get the 6in

The lift will definitely hurt your mileage. Mine went from 9.8-10.5 L/100 kms stock to 11.5-12 L / 100 kms after my lift. I didn't put tires on for a couple months after the lift so this was a great way to compare. I lost 3-4 US mpg ONLY from the lift. I have 3.92 gears and engine mods to help with mpg and power.

After the tires I went from 11.5-12 L / 100 kms to 13-14 L / 100 kms. That's dropping another 2-3 US mpg.

That being said there won't be a difference in mpg between a 4" and a 6". I was in the same boat as you, I wanted to lift and still get good mileage. Frankly it isn't possible. I go 90 km/h on cruise 90% of the time when I'm on the highway so it's not like I'm driving crazy lol.

These are hand calculated numbers, not evic numbers. Personally I'm happy with my lift, I don't mind the fuel mileage and it really turns heads! If I could do it over again I would!

I have a 4 inch lift on my truck and my gas went down from 19 hwy, to about 15. Avg is about 14 to 14.5. Towing my ranger i get about 12.2. I figure it may be the winter gas that is giving me such bad mileage. I bought rims but not going 35's. Just upsizing to 285/65/20. Will see how that affects my mileage also. i do regret not going with the 6 inch sometimes, but when you look at the truck you can tell its lifted, which is all i wanted.

Just any FYI, aside from rear lift height (which you can usually choose 2" spacers or 3" coils) the main difference in the 4" and 6" kits seem to be the 6" just add a preload in addition to the spacer where as the 4" has just the spacer. From what I've read and seen, the components between the 4" and 6" are the same (lift knuckles, brackets, Ect......)

So you could go with a 4" with 3" coils in the rear per say and if you wanted more, just slap some Bilsteins and you basically have a standard 6" lift ( 6" front, 3" rear)

This "edumacated guess" is based on the companies that offer the 4" and 6".

Darkknight, truck looks killer, please post pics once you get tires, I was wondering how the 286/65/20's would look with the exact setup you have.

And I keep going back and forth on which direction to go myself!

My 83" garage door opening determined the amount of lift I could go with. It was hard enough convincing the wife that I needed to lift the truck. Pretty sure I would have been in divorce court if I told her I needed to replace the garage door with an 8 footer cuz I need a 6" lift. I am very happy with my Zone 4"F/3"R and the Bils at 0.7" and 35's. My only regret is not ordering the truck with 3.92's. I lost no mpg's with the lift, and I only drop 2 mpg in the summer when the 35's go back on.

I debated the 4" as well. There's a lot of sexy as trucks with 4" lifts and 35's in here. I guess it's all personal preference. I went with 6" and 35;s. Maybe 37's someday. As far as gas mileage goes I know some are pretty concerned with it, but if I was truly worried about mileage I would have either gotten the diesel or not gotten a truck!

You aren't going to lose 3-4 mpg from the lift. You'd be hard pressed to lose that much total with the lift AND wheels/tires. I had a 2012 1500 with a 4.7 that I first ran with just a leveling kit and 35x12.5 Toyo MT's for a number of months and then threw a 6" RCX lift with Bilsteins at 1.4" on. I lost about 2 mpg when I put the 35's on and MAYBE another 0.5" mpg when the lift went on. That was it.... And that was with an engine with quite a bit less power/torque than the new hemi's.

With my Cummins I lost about 2-2.5 mpg total going from 100% stock suspension/tire wise to a 9" lift and 37x13.5 Toyo MT's. Sure it's a Cummins with far more torque/power... but still comparable because of the amount of lift and tire size.
