So was an inch away from ordering 2019 15000 Laramie sport or blackout edition. Main goal just all color matched and 12” display. Then I saw deals on 2018 Ram 2500. Basically can get 2500 Laramie or longhorn for close to same price as19 1500. All blacked out leather 8.4. What you guys think? I’m thinking I’m getting ***** on 2019 with only $1000 credit. Either way I’m making decision this weekend but figured I’d through it out there to community ....thoughts ?

18... The rule is to avoid the 1st year production on a new vehicle because the bugs aren't worked out. I'd also push them to the breaking point for 2018 discounts since they need to move them.

I would go with the 19 but work a better deal. Dennis Dillon is already doing 10k+ off of them, so use that as leverage.

If you have use for the capability of the 2500, then go for it. I prefer the comfortable ride of the 1500.

18 all day long given the choice between the 2. You may complain about MPG, but you will NEVER complain about its utility, ever. I will grab a 2500 in 2020, and this truck moves down to my kid.

That's what I did. Dealer was like "that's on the other side of the country" to which I replied "airport is 15 minutes away and a couple hour one way flight for a couple hundred bucks. Do you want to sell the truck or am I booking a flight?"

I also say 2500 but you should test drive one before just going all in. I am not one of them, but some people really think they ride like **** and can’t handle it. Also, just go in expecting bad fuel economy. The 6.4 has plenty of power but she sucks a lot of gas to have that power. It is moving around A LOT of weight. But yeah, for about the same price as a 1500, I personally would go 2500 all day. You get a lot more truck and as someone else said they hold their value better.

If you run 89-93 octane the 25000 will get an average of 17-19 using the mds and cruise control.
This is fact speaking I’m getting that all the time driving 30-35 miles each way to the dr’s office every other day.

I saw over 17 on my longest trip so far even with the 35's. Cruise set at 68-70 the whole way. Which to me is plenty acceptable for what it is. Around town and stop and go is what will kill you. After 5 straight days of stop and go driving, some cold weather idling and winter blend gas, I will see as low as 8MPG. Personally I don't care, but I know to a lot of people seeing 8MPG would make them run for the hills screaming in horror. Lol. This is with 35s and a level. With a stock truck and during summer the same week would probably have got me 10/11MPG.

I bought my truck on 1-1-18 and it hasn’t lost any value except for the drive it off the show room floor depreciation fee. Bout $2K. The dealership offered to buy it back for the same as I paid. I didn’t pull the trigger on the Power Wagon because it was gonna cost me around $250-325 more a month. Just couldn’t justify it
