Hey contemplating picking up a 11 Ram 1500 laramie ,
it has 190k miles on it. Clean carafax 2 owners no accidents reported.
trucks super clean runs great no little hiccups.
What do you guys think a fair price for a truck with this kind of mileage is?
how many guys have mileage up there what are some of the things to look out for.
How are these trucks with this kind of mileage?
Car was driven a ton on highway for work.

Seen a lot of 2011s with lifter and cam failures with less miles than that. I would be hesitant to buy it unless the engine was recently replaced. Not saying it will happen but that's a lot of miles

That’s A LOT of miles in my opinion. Unless it’s dirt cheap I would pass.

As an example, here’s my 2011 with 192,000 miles on it. Now my truck has been all over and then some lol. Still running strong, and still drives like a champ.ce6e64dbfaaf0038b00a981e0a400989.jpg

I thought my 2011 looked good for its mileage. Wow! Mine runs like new still at 250000km doesn't feel like i'm driving a newer truck when i'm in my 17' and the interior looks pretty near new after I re covered the drivers seat. Are those the RT wheels? I really like them. Truck envy. In Canada high mileage laramies still pull about 15k cdn in good shape.

Sounds like a pretty decent deal to me, drivetrain failures happen, but I wouldn't let that scare you.

That's what I hate about living in Alabama. A truck like that will easily pull 10-15k here but I wouldnt pay more than 5-7. Makes buying a truck difficult

Buy it out of state and road trip it man. I did that with my viper and saved 15k.

That's what I was thinking, but this thing looks solid, not even a rattle in it lol...I have a 14 Q60 and this thing seems like it runs better than that lol

same thing here in ny most with like 150k go for 20k its nuts here.
I know hes def not going that low butim working on him.

That's what I'm doing, all the Laramie's in ny go for 20k minimum

theres a few 22k with 160k miles. this one he wanted 10 then got him to 9 and working on going lower lol.

Thats a nice truck!!! Looks great for that many miles! Some one took really good care of it....You would be hard pressed to find any thing else that looks that good for less than 8 IMO. Its like beauty its in the eye of the beholder!

I would think if it was going to have a major engine issue, it would already have happened. I f you can talk owner down great, but looks like it's in great shape.

You're not asking for advice on whether to buy or no, but instead about the price. I'll say it anyway, way too many miles and high chances of things starting to break.

To get the price down, check for known hemi issue such as exhaust manifold bolts leaks and, knocks or any other ticks in the engine. Be there early am to make sure truck is cold, tell seller that you want to listen to it cold as you may hear an exhaust manifold leak before it warms up and leak goes away.

Better yet, take it to the mechanic to check it out.

If you hear anything unusual from the engine - ticks, knocks, then you can try to negotiate based on that. Or not buy the truck as these are expensive issues to fix.

Manifold bolts fix $1k+
Lifters and cam $4k
Engine replacement $9k+
