My current TT is around 6k lbs, so that plus my family of 4 in the cab (all over 100lbs) bed loaded with firewood and camping gear and any other empty space in the cab had gear in it.

Pulls strong. On a 12% grade coming out of lavelle on the way to Knoebels i was down into 3rd gear and 4,000+ rpm, but once there she pulled like a freight train. I had to back out of it as i was catching people on the grade! :head3::head3:

Gero: I didn’t!
But it would be a great idea.
She didn’t like being towed empty—->She was all over the road behind me. But I constantly had over 20mph crosswinds.

The trailer is not mine she’s my wife’s bosses.
He has 3 of these. They are used to pull his as well as his employees expensive sand rail cars to the sand dunes. Which is only 52 miles away.

Truck-2016 ccsb srw 3500 4x4 with 6.4 and 373s
Heaviest load approximations
Trailer approx 3000
Kubota excavator with 4 buckets and hammer- 11000
Steel road plates 4’x8’x1” (4 plates)-6000

So around 20k plus fuel cell etc in the truck last like a fuel cell and whatnot for about a 60 Miles move. I was in a bind to move everything from one site to another. All of my guys were ******* as were my heavier trucks/trailers while the foreman who was responsible for all of this had an emergency. I showed up to move the **** to find the road plates loaded too, I had been told they were in a dump truck and gone already.
Load the machine, chain the hell out of it and take it slow, avoid the interstate and go. Shuffled the machine a couple time to find the sweet spot. Truck pulled better than expected even in some long crappy hills, brakes were the biggest concern but it did alright as I used the trailer hand control a lot too.
I regularly move this type of load without the road plates and it’s not an issue for power, brakes etc

Pulled TT from Ball Ground GA to Navarre beach campground in Florida. Trailer is around #9500 I'm guessing. Truck handled great. My biggest complaint is the squeaking of the WDH when turning (equalizer). I hear they just squeak

With my 2011 SLT Long Bed: Towed my 24 foot heavy steel enclosed trailer with race car, 5 sets of wheels, one or two sets of unmounted tires, misc tools, fuel and other crap. Most conservative weight was about 12,500. Frequently closer to 14K. Plus me and baggage in truck. 90% of milage was towing long distance. Shortest would be about 900 miles round trip. A few times a year a straight overnight overnight run from NYC to Sebring Florida. About 1200 miles each way.

I knew the trailer was there only because it didn't pull off the line like it would empty, but I could still burn rubber at 45mph.

Only time I really felt the trailer effected by wind or sway was on my drive back through hurricane Sandy. I noticed the 100mph gusts in Virginia. When I got back home, I had to pull fallen trees off the road with the front hooks and the trailer attached. Meh....
2500 is a beast.
Absolutely love the exhaust brake.

And OF COURSE I have a WD hitch.

A few times towed my girlfriends open trailer with race car, couple of sets of tires and tools. About 6500. Hardly knew it was there. Except there was some guy tail gating me the whole way.. Oh wait. That was the car on the trailer -:)

My boat is the biggest so far. 21', weighs someone around 6000lbs with the trailer I think.

I think there are only like 20-25 of these factory green custom colors out on the road.

I carry a Truck camper just shy of 5000lbs and a 48" overhang with tailgate off. I also have Torklift HD hitch that doubles with stock hitch using a 48" steel tow bar, and tow an 18' boat and 90HP motor and usual gear. The truck is a 14 Longhorn Laramie, 3500 duelly with exhaust break (great), tow haul, etc . The truck likes the weight, except I did have one case of the rear panel under tail gate which is removed for hauling a truck camper "bend" and cause the two rear fenders to go out of alignment which a truck body shop repaird via RAM under warranty, but it was suggested that this should not happen...is truck of camper to blame....NOT Sure, never happened on my 2003 Ram 3500 duelly. OPINIONS PLEASE

I know there are only a few. I'm on the Dodge Cummins forum, there are only two others there.

Just moved from West Texas to Georgia over the weekend and brought most of what we own with me. Moved around the weight the best I could in the trailer to bring the tongue weight down to 2,000lbs, but it was still 15.5% tongue weight. 10,900 plus 2,000 means the trailer itself was just shy of 13,000 lbs. I’d even put a cargo hitch carrier on the front of the truck and packed the heavier generator and other stuff to keep weight on my front axles, helped with breaking and steering. The Hemi in my 2500 got it going and kept it moving surprisingly well. But if I ever had to move that much weight more than every couple of years I’d definitely be getting the Cummins.. 866f1858852b888cc5426f4bf9273d07.jpg76a5cd862618ab01009dc014ed83f614.jpg

I just had about 3,100lbs of retaining wall block in the back of the truck. The forklift could only get it so far in the back of the truck, so the center of the pallet was slightly rear of the back axle. The truck squatted pretty good. I was more concerned with my tires. I have 73 or 74 psi in them, and they were sure squishing.

If I had to do that on a regular basis, I think I’d have to get AirLift 5000 bags. There was also pretty good body roll on the turns.

I hauled 45 bundles of shingles last weekend. It would have been better if they were able to put them further towards the front, but it handled it ok.
