I recently sold my 2011 Ram Hemi and bought a 2021 Ram Ecodiesel. We pull a 27 foot Lance travel trailer on long road trips and I take the truck on rough ranch roads here in Colorado to reach trout streams. The new truck came with 22 inch wheels and mid range tires. I’m considering switching to 20 inch wheels once these tires hit 30k miles. Am I able to switch wheel size without causing issues?

Should I reconsider changing from 22 inch to 20 inch wheels?

Thanks

You can switch wheel size - no problems. Get the same diameter tire as the 22" tires and speedo and odometer will be the same.

If it were me, I would go to 18" wheels and load range E tires.

Yes I just went with similar size tires and went from 20's down to 17's and my speedo seams identical, just to verify what these guys said.

What would be a slightly larger tire from stock that would still fit on the stock 18" rims?
