I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Big Horn crew cab. I ordered some wheels 20x12 with -44 offset. I got 305/50R20 which I am now worried is too big for when I lower my truck in a few weeks. Has anyone achieved this fit? What modifications are required? Is it possible? The tires are nitto 420s so they aren’t too aggressive.

How much are you lowering it. It looks to me like they are too tall for even a stock height truck. If lowering it you should be around a 255/50/20 or a 285/45/22. A 12" wide wheel is way too wide. This is a wheel you would use for a 6" lift and 35" or 37" tires. For lowering you do not want more than a 10" wide rim and 32" or smaller tire

Might be me,but a "street race look" means a big and little tire/rim combo. You should be semi okay with those rims/tires on the rear, and spring for a smaller/narrower tire/rim for the front. If you're 4X4 you can't do that,if that's the case good luck on turning the front tires and not wearing holes in the fender liners, and keep an eye on the wiring harness under the wheel well liner on the drivers side,as guys have rubbed through the wiring in that harness. And then you have some real head-aches to deal with if you rub through the wiring and things start to short out.

I have a 2wd Truck. I am returning the wheels and tires for something that will fit proper. I am trying to find a good size wheel and tire for a 2/4 drop. I want to race my truck so I want something that will handle good. Do you have any ideas on what I should get for wheel and tire size? (___/__R20, Offset, width)

I don't have my truck with me at work to look at the tire size, but I don't think you want to go outside the wheel well myself. Mine just come to the outer edge and I have NITTO's.
I'm running on 22" also. I did have to go to performance shocks after I lowered it to keep the front from bottoming out in dips, but that corrected the problem.
Also, I had to put 1/4" spacers on the back to make them even with the front because the McGhuey's (? spelling) lowering kit made the front poke out just a bit.

What are the dimensions of your wheels and tires? (___/__R22) (Offset) (Wheel width)? I am in the dark here I am new to the whole sport truck thing.

The wheels are 22x10, my offset looks to be "0" because my hubs are pretty much centered in the wheel. Not sure about my tires, it's at home but they're pretty freak'n wide. I'll check and get back tomorrow on the size. What lowering kit are you going with?

I am looking at a ground force #9863 2/3 drop. The shop in my area only carries that kit but I have heard good things about it.

I'm just running the stock 20 X 9 Sport rims with Toyo Proxies .305/50/20 rear 295/45/20 front. My dropped spindles are narrowed 5/8" so my fronts are actually about a 1/4" in from stock,so I'm not running any spacers on the rear . My local track is 155 miles from my driveway to the entrance gates ( i'm there most Friday nights in the summer) so I only swap rear tires at the dragstrip, and I run 17 X9 Mickey rims (relatively light at 24 lbs,and way cheaper then a Darkstar etc..I paid 180 Canuck each for mine ) with a 305/45/17 Mickey Thompson ET Street R,but if you're running 3.92 gears a 315/50/17 will fit the rims with no issues

17 X 9 with a 5 X 5.5" hole spacing

Hey Nathan, my tires are 285/45/R22, NITTO's (which equal 32.1"X11.2"X22" fwiw).
Awesome thank you for telling me. I am considering running either 22” or 24” hellcat replicas in black but I’m unsure as of now about what wheels.

Those aren't really a great tire/rim set-up to go fast with. The rims are heavier then **** and are rotating weight. If you're actually wanting a dual duty street/strip tire set-up don't go any bigger then 20" and even they are on the heavy side.If all you care about is looks then you'll be okay.

Alright then I am definitely gonna go with the 20s but then the tire size changes with that and I am afraid to order any without knowing for sure if it will fit.

Centerline makes some super light 20’s
I had forged Centerline Stingray III 20’s on my 3G Ram
Tires and wheels were under 70lbs
Really happy with the look and performance- not the maintenance

My truck is dropped 2/4 and 305/50/20's fit good and even with my narrowed spindles I have no rub issues with the 295/45/20's on the front.

Do you have any photos with the 305/50/20 and the 295/45/20 tires
Thanks David
