Where to get 8.4

How would one go about upgrading to the the 8.4" display?

Is infotainment a good company? They seem overpriced.

With infotainment you're basically paying them to for finding the unit's. I don't believe they are new. Car-part.com is how most buy them. It takes some time and communication with pick and pull yards to make sure you are actually getting what you want. Sometimes they don't know. You'll have to make sure it's a 2019. I think the 2019 classic radio's would work. From what I've seen it appears that there is something different in the software in the 2019 8.4's.

Unless things have changed from the 4th Gens, going to be kind of difficult to switch radios to OEM. Have heard horror stories about aftermarket with the FCA hooks ups.

After market is easy. It's a little more pricey now with more options being controlled through the radio. Pac and Metra now have bezel replacements that now have a separate screen to control all the non radio functions. Prior to that it was only idatalink. Now idatalink is the cheapest route to retain factory settings with an aftermarket radio.

I believe some programming in the 5th gen radio's was changed so they can't be a direct swap into a 4th gen. But are still easy to do from 5th gen to 5th gen. But like the 4th gens I'm sure if you want a complete factory working swap it'll take some other parts

I'm torn between Idatalink, and the 1700$ OE HU. The 8.4 looks nicer, but the aftermarket will sound better and can easily hookup my subs i salvaged from my last truck.

I have heard idatalink works for 2019 w/ 5inch uconnect.

How would this work? Are the 13-18 essentially the same dash as 19? Noticed they share a lot in common.

I would assume that any dash kit for for 2013+ with the 3.0/5.0 radio would work. Idatalink shows it works on 2019 truck's.
