First off, just wanna introduce myself as I am new to RamForum. I own a black 2002 Ram 1500 4.7L 2wd (Posi rear) currently at 216k miles.

I am slowly upgrading different aspects of lighting. I plan on getting aftermarket LED halos. I was looking at Anzo and Spyder chrome halo units. Just wanted everyones thoughts in terms of quality, brightness (color of lights too), installation, and functions (im not sure but I thought I heard something weird regarding the hibeam function for the sypders). Thanks!

You need to hit up DemonHemi. He's the lighting expert in here.

Definetly don’t get the Spyder ones. I had those and they flat out sucked, I could literally barely see at night

I said **** it on both the Anzo and Spyder's. On Anzo's website it says the bulb type for any of their projectors for my make/model use a halogen bulb. I called Anzo, spoke to a tech specialist and he said that they do use standard bulbs, its just the halo ring which make it brighter (if they even are brighter, I have yet to see a night comparison). I assume Spyder's work the same way but I didn't even bother calling due to the almost unanimous bad opinions I've heard from 3rd gen ram owners concerning them. So pretty much their just a standard headlight which looks fancy and has a little added light with the halo rings but cost almost $300. So instead, since I needed new headlights anyways, I ordered cheap replacement standard headlight assemblies on Ebay for $60, and I plan on buying CCFL halo rings off Carid for another $35. The halo rings look very easy to install, and Carid has a very thorough video plus instructions explaining how to do it. Regarding the halogen bulb problem, I may just stick with the halogens at first but I am looking into HID conversion kits or LED conversion kits. So far the LED conversion kits look a little easier to do so I may go that route (plus more color options). Once I decide either HID or LED (or what color) is when I'll get the halo rings (because they have different color choices for the rings, and I wanna match bulb color and ring color). Anyways, I'll post something once I'm done like pictures and any problems I had, but so far this seems like the cheapest, easiest route. The only con I see is that, yes the Spyders or Anzos looked cooler (in my opinion), but just not worth the money if more work would still be required to get a bright light.

LEDs seem to work fine as halogen replacements. Seems you can spend anywhere from $30-100 for them depending on where you get them. Several of the Vendors on here can help you.

What about an LED conversion?

Im running Vanquish LEDs in my 17 quads. Easy install, bulbs only no ant flicker modules needed (so far). Have had them in for about 3-4 weeks and drive every morning at oh dark thirty for 30 to 60 minutes with no issues.
Vanquish is a vendor here
