Has anyone bought an Amp Research bed step for their 2019 Classic with dual exhaust? I tried one from Amazon....part # 75325-01A and it doesn't fit. It hits the exhaust and hits the bumper. Looking at the AR website....it shows it's the right part, but it doesn't work.

Thanks!

Did you ever get this figured out?

I have a 19' classic and made sure to order the step for dual exhaust and the step hits everything.
Bracket hits the bolt for the trailer hitch.
step arm hits the exhaust even with lots of space
Step arm hits the bumper corner.

I got the step for xmas, so it has been a while since purchase, but I sent AR a message hopefully something gets figured out.

Nope. Tried buying it a second time from American Trucks. They had a different part # and pic for it....but they sent the same one as I first bought from Amazon. Returned it.

I bought an Amp Bedstep for my 2016 Ram 1500

I never mounted it, i'll be damned if i am going to climb onto anything on the drivers side here in California.

It should be mounted on the passenger side

The step they sold me was

Here are the points of contact on mine. Since mine was an xmas present so I probably cannot return... I'll probably take the grinder and nip off the edge so it sits flush. AMP support has been in contact but they seem to think I just need to rotate my exhaust and don't look back at the initial message with issues. If I get this fitment correct I'll post up.

Buy the factory Mopar one. About the same price and they fit perfect. It is what I have on my 2021 2500.

AMP is suppose to make the parts fit a stock Ram with Dual Exhaust

You can't move the exhaust up, down, right, or left
It is suppose to fit the curves in the rear bumper
( I just noticed, my right side exhaust tip was off center when it was getting the Dodge prep, before i signed for it )

I got mine on.... had to grind off a spot on the step bracket, and loosen the exhaust and move it, then move back . I grinded off the spot from my picture above where the top of the bracket corner hit the bolt . once it was able to sit flush it fit. It still seems to hit the bumper corner when extended down, but whatever....

I thought amp made the mopar one? The amp was an xmas present and they probably wouldn't refund at this point.

I too have heard the rumour that AMP makes the Mopar ones. Given the number of fitment issues with the AMP I kind of doubt it.

My 2013 Ram 1500 has the same issues. The Bed Step contacts the exhaust pipe and that little corner of the bumper in your second picture. It doesn't seem to contact the hitch bolts. One of the amazon reviews says if you torque the mounting bolts while the bed step is hanging by its own weight, you will have fitment issues, but if you support it and even push it away and then torque the bolts, you shouldn't have issues. I plan on trying that today. I had to stop last night because I foolishly tried to adjust the angle of the exhaust pipe but the bolt was hopeless seized so I spent about an hour trying to cut it off before it finally came free. Then it noticed no amount of adjusting the position of the exhaust pipe would help. After all that work for nothing, I was out of daylight and patience. I'll be back at it today with some replacement bolts and a different attempt.

Update for anyone interested. It looks like the Bed Step mounting slightly contacted one of the mounting bolts for my hitch, so I slightly ground that area down until it fit. That didn't help much. I supported the Bed Step while the mounting bolts were loose and tried to angle it away from the exhaust while I torqued them down and it still hit the exhaust. What ended up working was, I used my step drill bit to make one of the holes bigger that mounts the folding step mechanism TO the Bed Step mount. This allowed me to turn the Bed Step itself and angle it more away from the exhaust and then it mounted perfectly. Looking at the mounting brackets, I am wondering if my mount was "defective" and not cast/stamped properly. All in all, this install took me probably 4 hours, but if I had to do it again armed with the knowledge I have now, it would probably take less than an hour.

I also forgot to take pictures, so I'll have to do that if anyone is interested in the final product.
