1000.1 to make sure they are getting enough power.

are you going to wire them in series to produce a 4ohm load?
if so, go with which ever makes more power at 4 ohms...1000.1

Agreed on the 1000.1
Amps aren't very efficient, even good ones like a JL. If the subs can take 500W each and it only dishes out 1,000, it should be your choice IMO.
I put 1,200W to a singe sub rated for 800W, and often wish I had more power as my amp clips before the sub is strained.

I would have to have 4 ohm subs to get down to 2 ohm right?

I'm running 2 JL Audio XD600/1 pushing 2 12" JL TW3's. My previous set up was 2 10" W0's run off 1 XD600/1. The XD is a better quality amp from JL than the JX series. Me personally, I'd go at least XD series, more likely the slash series and go more power! My buddy owns a stereo/cell shop and their flagship is JL. JL subs LOVE power! My W0's ate up that XD 600/1 and loved it! 3 10" W0's can handle a 1000 watt slash series ALL DAY! My buddy probably sold hundreds of this same set up when he first opened his shop!

A general rule of thumb to use is to match the rms handling of the sub with the rms output of the amp. too many people look at the max power. there is about a 95% chance you will never see max power.

i would also look into getting the 4ohm speakers as you will have much more flexibility for amps.

Soundqubed 1200.1 wire it down to one ohm and set gains correctly. Have that amp on 1 12W3v3 and will make the coil smelly all day long and never gets hot. Pluse it'll be the same price or less if you find a deal on ebay as the JX 1000.
