Are you in Houston as well? If so what kind of commute do you have? I can't go a 1/4 mile without seeing 4th gens.

No I am not in Huston and I see a lot of 4th Gens to, its a popular truck. Maybe its a Huston thing instead of a 4th gen thing.

Idk, I drive all over Houston and see it everywhere - like I said it's not every 4th gen, just one here and there.

I'm calling BS on you seeing about 5 a week with this issue. And if you really want to know what's going on then ask the folks you see with the problem what caused it.

Sensors can give some false sense of.security for sure.

For some reason I can picture myself backing out just fine but then swinging the front end or back side out into an object.

It's whatever, you call ********, I'm not here to debate whether what I see is ******** or not. I came here to ask a simple question - not to go back and fourth about he said she said. You probably don't see it because you are unaware of your surroundings, but it's in every state and every city.

As it was said earlier... people have become complacent with the tech and no longer use common sense driving tactics. It doesn't take much to turn your head and verify.

lane keeping, collision avoidance, and, yes, back up sensors (which i use sparingly in conjunction with actually LOOKING) are dumbing drivers down. pretty soon, no skill whatsoever will be required to drive. if you have even driven in the Phoenix area, you'd see many people are ill-equipped in that department anyway.

Thank you for the educated comment.

Remember that Canada is very vast and you are only one man...
That's true, however I'm in sales and am travelling all the time.

I'll definitely keep an eye out, but it is pretty rare for me to see a 4th Gen ram with damage. I'm on the 401 frequently too, and it's the busiest highway in North America!

To infer that some how 4 gen drivers are bad drivers because they have a few electronic devices to assist them is at best wrong and at worst your attempt to start ****. Your visual data collection methods is a joke. Although I have no statistics to to back it up I would say the percentage of good drivers to bad drivers is probably the same now that it was 40 years ago. I would suspect that people that are prone to backing into things do it with or without park assist or a camera. Any body with a brain would use these things as a complement to and not a replacement of normal driving habits.

My thread was in no way made "to start ****" - or single out 4th Gen owners. I simply asked a question to why they have sensors and and still back into things because I thought sensors were there to aid where that doesn't happen.

YOU are the only only one in this thread trying "to start ****" and I feel 50|50 about the good/bad drivers in my area. I wasn't here 40 years ago so i can't speak from personal experience only current. I also believe that the good/bad driver varies by location ie: state/city/ population. There was an F-150 who couldnt maintain a lane and when I passed him he's watching movie... I would say that women probably hold the higher bad driving percentage due to texting, makeup, pictures, oblivious to sorroundings.

I'll get home tonight and pull some statistics up on this so we can both be enlightened.
