I think we r missing the main point of this thread guys....the real question is how much will I get fined for harpooning dolphins cause I hate the environment so much

Why would you use a harpoon? Dynamite is much easier, no finesse required.

Doesn't really matter if you have emission testing where you live...if you get pulled over and a cop takes a look it's up to a $10,000.00 fine. Cats are federal law...your state laws don't matter.

********.... only people who have to worry about a spot inspection like that is a new diesel blowing mad black smoke, or a totally tricked out ram that is obnoctiously loud..and if u live in a high crime area, cops prolly have better **** to do than Harras u.. fed/state law doesn't mean ****.. look at what's happening with marijuana. only place u may see a fed enforced area is a " national/state park". don't **** around there.. you go to federal court not municipal.. big difference.. lol.. hence why u don't speed in through a national park.. those tickets are expensive!!

The argument is not whether or not the cop will check it. The fact is of a cop decides to check for whatever reason you will get the fine, plain and simple.

I personally know 3 people who have received fines north of 2500 bucks each from Texas state troopers. Each was pulled over for speeding then a roadside inspection was done. I've been checked myself but I've always been legal.
So....still ********?

There was a DPS cop out in San Antonio that was targeting loud vehicles specifically to check for cats. There was a big deal on a few websites about it....dude nailed a ton of people.
Whether you believe it or not...it happens...and it's expensive.

he lives in michigan.. I know it is a hefty ass fine.. it's. a 50k EPA fine for a diesel in the state where I live, California.. I didn't know Texas had emission laws.. only states I am up to par on is Cali/someof nevada/some of arizona.. if he says he doesn't have to test, then I personally wouldn't worry about it if I was him. all those instances are in Texas, he just needs to decide if they take it that seriously in michigan. I live In a town where u get ticketed for window tint... it all depends on where u live, they are cracking down on it more and more, but I was mainly pointing at the federal aspect of it.. if it was me, I get a system with high flow cats, they should support a good amount of hp. and like I said people who need to worry, loud cars was included in my statement..

easiest solution, have a muffler shop gut you're cats, as long as you have a programmer to deactivate the 02 sensors, or they may not even need to be de activated, " you would have to drive and see if it throws a check engine code" you are good, if you have cai, programmer,exhaust/supporting mods, I bet the truck would even pass a smogg test.

This is true I might do that and who knows what will happen. My town has it's own police department and we are a small, really quiet town of mostly farms and workers so the only thing the cops have to do around here to prove their worth is harass drivers and set up speed traps around every corner and on the parts of the highway going into and leaving the town to really welcome new people in and trust me my truck is already one they know and love to follow haha.

that's the ****** thing about having exhaust.. you love the sound, but at the same time they can track you just by listening to you, it's the same way here, I regretted putting pipes on my sport bike, I had to limp it everywhere in city limits, there was no sneaking around after that.

Yeah I try to sneak around too but I still end up going wot everywhere and leaving some tire tracks at stop signs so I kinda bring it on my self too haha
