If you had 14 k equity. . why you didn't just buy a hemi?

2012 Ram Hemi

I was ready to get rid of that ford and this ram was the best deal they had.
Its crazy once that ford hit 100,000 everything on it started to f-up.

I agree with some of the posts on here, the 5.7L HEMI is the better engine if you want speed, the 4.7L can't touch it. No harm in getting an intake an exhaust, it'll flow better and sound better at WOT especially and you'll likely gain some power in the higher RPM range. Just don't expect to beat a stock HEMI even with these mods, its 410 ft. lbs. of torque will win every time.

Just got my first ram pickup!
Im loving it so far and im well on my way to choosing the aftermarket pieces to make it mine.
Ive been noticing though that practically everything I look at is $300.

Diablo tuner - $350~
S&B intake - $299
PTB - $349
CatBack Ex. - $400+

Im really looking forward to upgrading this truck, but its not gonna happen quickly.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying.

It took a little while for me to adjust. Coming from the Grand Prix world most mods are cheaper. But the platform has been out for over 15 years now. I did spend almost $800 on some of the first headers and now you can get some on ebay for $150.. haha.. Also before some companies started making parts for our cars. A lot of forum members made stuff from scratch by themselves and sold it on the forums. Now they have there own companies and making 6 figures+.

It's all supply and demand. Look at the 3rd gen ram stuff. Most of it is cheaper then the 4th gen stuff. Wait tell the 5th gen stuff comes out, the 4th gen mods will drop.

I have found some deals here and there, but your right just about everything starts at $300

With the 4.7L, I suggest getting deeper gears, 4.56's, for better all around performance. Especially if you have 3.55 ratio now. A 4x4 will double the cost, but if you have a 2wd, it's a great value for $500-800 per axle.! If you still want more after that, then '$300 yourself' at your own pace. City mileage should improve, but highway mileage will suffer some.

You didn't pay $8,000 for it. You paid $22,000 and $14,000 was equity from your previous truck. lawd help us, some of these folks with delusions about finances.

QFT.

We've only had about 6500 threads where idiots think their loan = price paid, and completely forget about down payments and/or trade ins.
