We dont buy new junk. We keep out old **** running instead.

The people that buy all this new crap deserve the bills that go with it. ;)
I did the same up to 10 when I test drove a Z06 with a HUD g meter around the block, and put torque tube, vacuum windshield wipers and carburetors on the back burner. But I found a small vette mod shop and found the guy can and will fix anything for me.Except the Mercedes software was too expensive and I didn’t want to buy it.But I would rather be bidding at a barett Jackson auction then spending 60+ on this new junk like the caddy.

I have Kimber team match 2 in 9mm. Had a Para ordnance but sold it.
I have colts and one kimber, the only ones I’ll trust for safety and security. The striker fired semis don’t give me that cocked and locked feel.

Years ago I bought the Kimber, it has an undisclosed extraction problem. I sat in a motel room one night before a national match here in Canada and pulled it completely apart. Took a close look at everything, did a bit of tweaking and a gentle touch with a file "here and there" and it has run fine ever since. That was 12 years ago. I quit competing after that because there was blatant cheating in that match and the executive did nothing about it. Now, I just use it for a high speed paper punch.

It always surprises me to here that on board vehicle diagnostics increase maintenance costs. Having repaired industrial equipment for over 40 years I can attest that if the code is written properly it greatly reduces the guess work and as such should lower the maintenance costs.
Perhaps what needs to happen is that WIFI access is limited to position, weather, and telephone services. All non safety related vehicle based sensor and control information, should only be available through open source cabled connection.
That would block the thieves both private hackers and corporate dealers, from stealing from us.

After I changed pcms and had the S/C tune no more vehicle reports. Is that what stopped the monitoring or is a 19 too old?

I'm afraid the only thing I do with my 2019 PCM is use a OBDII reader to check and reset codes so perhaps someone else can help you out.
The code reader did help me pinpoint a failed ESIM sensor at the gas tank. It taught me not to overfill the gas tank. When the pump kicks off, quit filling or pay the consequences. It took two sensors for me to learn. Ouch.

Whether or not the unlocked pcm or blower tune that stopped the spying I can’t say but I did all of it at 6k and not one issue with the truck for 30 k miles or today, just shell premium and frequent oil changes and plugs. IMG_0311.jpegBoost! It’s what hemis need apparently.
