Wind noise in cab (usually from passenger side). You can hear while driving. Not sure if it occurs on every truck and most people just don’t notice it, or if only happens on specific vehicles. The noise is better or worse depending on which way the wind is blowing, but even when it is not windy out, you can hear the change immediately if you follow the below process:

If you have the heat or A/C on (keep it low so you’re not hearing the fan) you hear the wind noise. As soon as you turn the system off, or turn it to recirculate, it goes away. It’s like you can hear when the outside air is being pulled into the system.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Is there a fix for this?

Where is the vent that the air is pulled in from (would like to cover it to see if it makes a difference)?

Have you ever had the windshield replaced?

Are there any trim pieces / moldings that are out of alignment that could be contributing to the wind noise?

At the bottom of the windshield on the exterior with the hood open, and has all the openings on this piece is the area in which the system draws in fresh air.

Never had windshield replaced, and I actually drove a couple other Rams that I could make do the same thing, just not sure if it's the same one every truck or just some of them.

Thanks, I did cover those spots by bottom of windshield and it still did it, so I'm guessing there is some vent that opens and closes under the dash that contributes to the noise

Had same issue on 2013 1500. It was the seal on the recirc vent. In the 2013, it is behind the glove box. I was lazy and just hit the recirc button to make it go away.

I have a 2022, I have the wind noise also. I have had the windshield replaced by dealer (It got cracked while they were test driving it!). The noise is still there. It's also not from wind around wipers, it is not feedback from stereo, it's not fan noise for air control. I can't figure where its coming from. The only solution is to turn up the volume!

My daily driver is a 21 year old Jeep with the softtop off most of the year. What is this wind noise you speak of? When I’m in the Ram I feel like I have lost my hearing it’s so quiet

I’ve on occasion heard more air or road noise in the cab of my 23 than normal. It’s usually gone the next day or drive. I’ve wondered if their noise cancelation system doesn’t occasionally go a little haywire? But, maybe just the road surface.

Noise cancellation makes more noise than the whole truck. I cut all the wires to the 4 ceiling speakers. Big difference. I could not explain the process on here, so theres youtube videos on that job.

I had the same issue with my truck when I first got it. Found out whoever changed out the cabin air filter did not put the cover on properly and it was whistling from that. Pulled the cover off and reinstalled it fully. Noise went away.

I have a 2022 crew and had it to two dealers numerous times for a whistle that seemed to come from the area around the glove boxes. This happened a lot like you describe, happening at various speeds and whether you were driving into the wind or not. Also was effected by whether the outside air intake was open or closed. Mine went away when the outside air was allowed. Living in FL that wasn’t happening. There is a TSB that has the dealer install a thicker gasket between the air mixer box and the fire wall. After doing this twice I spent many hours with Selantis Customer complaint Dept. Finally I had an older tech at a dealership tear the air box off the firewall and he had someone shoot air at the firewall from the engine side. They found a small hole outside the area of the new thicker gasket and he sealed it. After 9 months and not having my truck over 4 months of various times being at dealers for weeks at a time he fixed it!! By the way Stelantis compensated me. Hope yours is easier.

Had the windshield in my 22 replaced twice. Wind noise from the lower right corner each time. Stuffed a microfiber cloth (black b/c I have a black dash) down in that corner between the glass and dash. No more wind noise. There is a rubber seal that runs MOST of the length of the glass along the firewall and just below the dash. I’m pretty sure that’s the culprit. Mine was deformed from the OEM glass being set tight against it. Apparently aftermarket glass doesn’t sit against it as tight as the OEM. Next glass, if needed, I’ll insist on that seal being replaced too.

Not uncommon in Dodge pickups, as well as a rattling CAT converter. Both issues happened in 2 Dakotas and my Gen 3 RAM. Dodges solution (original design) to the poor weather seal was a small block of foam glued horizontally across the front of the cavity between the door and cab. This usually doesn't work for long. I just got inthe habit of stuffing a sock in there whenever I knew I would be making a longer trip on the freeway.

it would be hard to close off the air intake completely unless you pulled off a lot of that plastic under the wipers, but as mentioned, may pull the cabin air filter out and check it and the door.
I had a rattle in my other truck that was not noticeable till I got hearing aids, Old age can have advantages.
What happens if you crack a window? any help, the air exits out vents behind the back seat back rests / back of the cab.
A easy way to check windshield would be with that foam backer rod you can get at home hardware stores, looks like gray rope, and easy to stuff between the dash and windshield, stuff is cheap.
