Window tint

I went with 35% in front and a 5% windshield banner. No pics yet of the tint but I’ll post what I do have. This is from when i swapped my chrome bumpers out for black ones. You can kind of see the tint.

What wheels and tires are you running?

I got my front sides done to match the rears. I originally had the fronts done to 50% but still too much heat was getting in so I redid them to 20% and now it’s cooler. Up here we have window tint crackdowns about once a year so I didn’t wanna go too crazy.

I had mine matched to the rear and then put on a set of I-Board 5 inch running boards...nice boards for the money, 205.00 free shipping.. took about a hour and a half to put on. Most of that time was from running a die over the threads on the factory studs.

You'll likely be makin' friends with the local constabulary on a regular basis if you go 50%.

Every state has different laws. U need to research the laws in your state. And if U go to far, the citations might get expensive, and, U may not be able to pass inspection, just saying...

Get a good installer. I like mine. Second truck I’ve done it on. 27%

I do have question, my installer says allow up to a dang month for it to fully "cure," but i have some small bubbles on the door. How long before i take it back and say Fit It? This is what i get for straying from my regular guy who's 2hrs away since i moved.

Wow that looks really dark. You have never gotten pulled over ? I think 50% is as dark as I’ll go. I drive a lot at night.

I drive to work at 5am every morning, two lane back roads with very few street lights. I haven't had any issues with visibility even with low beams/ fog lights. The only issue i currently have, which could be due to the installation is that lights look kinda blurry at night. I need to talk with the shop that did it about that.

Haven't been pulled over solely for window tint, and even when pulled over for speeding, the tint was never mentioned. Drove the 2012 with 27% windshield all over South Carolina (Aiken, Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Columbia) and a trip to Tennessee with no attention from the police.

If that is the case, there still should be state laws regarding tint, and in the absence falls back to Federal CFR: I did not feel like looking up Minnesota or Wisconsin law,., hee hee as I am in TX.

I made the mistake of telling them legal; tint all around...which made rear darker, front doors less...so now I have to go back in and have front doors darkened.

It is for sure. Sometime soon I plan getting them painted white to match the truck and putting them back on. I think the black lip with white spokes would really pop
